I have lost several big fish and 1 hog that we would guess would have been atleast 9# maybe bigger, it was big. That same day a few cast later I lost another good. I have only had 1 trip where I didn't catch atleast 3 keepers and that trip my dad and nephew both caught 2 each. I have said here before, go against the rules fishing there. By that I mean if the situation calls for a crankbait throw a jig, topwater? I don't take any there or spinnerbaits for that matter. A fat baby crawl but 99% of the time I throw a jig. Fish places that others ignore. My best spots, I have never seen anyone fish, it's that wierd. People who know the lake alot better than me will tell you that you can catch really good fish there, just put the time in and don't give up, now is the best time to fish there. I won't go anywhere else till next summer to fish, I have that much faith in it.
the ponds up in the woods don't count..
it all has to with the pressure, from first week of nov. til freeze or water gets below 38,for me,even rough nolin and barren are different lakes.
