My guess would be staying in the creeks would be a good idea. I haven't been in almost 2 weeks and am not sure if or how bad the rain is going to muddy the creeks but I would check them with a crankbait.

Going to fish Barren for the first time ever this weekend, I've seen alot of posts but not alot of info, just wondering what they were hitting on and what type of structure. BTW I am NOT a tournament fisherman just wanted to catch and release a few LM.

You have a PM Hope it helps.
the backs of creeks were muddy and we had a very tough bite all day....doesnt appear to be one of the greatest times to fish barren
Wouldn't it be safe to say that the mudd should have moved out now?
don't really know...the whole lake has a muddier look to it than usual...have heard it was turning over and have heard it wasnt....even the main lake bite was tough for us...just what i saw while i was there
I spoke to a couple of friends and they tell me that the main lake part is tough at the moment. If you have a smaller boat though they tell me to go up into the creeks and you can have some luck. Cranks and spinners seems to be the tackle of choice for the moment. I have had great luck with buzz baits lately but they tell me that bite is off. The corp is drawing water out so be careful for sand bars and such.
