Take 150 East thru Stanford, Go across the dam, Take next road to the right, (Bass Pro Sign on the corner), the you will come to a -T- intersection, turn right, this will take you to the ramp. If you need any thing drive on down 150 towards Crab Orchard and see Randy at the bait shop. He is a Bass Pro Dealer and has about any thing you might need and he is open on Sunday and carries live bait if you need some.

    Re: Cedar Creek Boat Ramp

Heading down there Friday for the first time. Have wanted to fish this lake for a while now and never had the chance until this Friday. Can someone give me some idea of what I'm going to be looking at when I get there? I'm not looking for anyones spots just an idea for running my boat, ex. clearly marked channels. Is there a lot of structure, ie laydowns, standing timber. Any help would be appreciated. I'll be glad to post a report when we get back. I love exploring a new body of water.

I'll be down there Thur, Fri, Sat so if you see some dummy in a fish n ski trying to reel in a state record cedar tree, that would be me. Stop by and say hi... I don't get to fish Cedar that much but its loaded with standing timber being such a new lake. I haven't really figured it out but I have stumbled onto some nice fish there. The wierd thing is that my biggest fish have all come from different spots.

The channels are not marked, so when you get down toward the end of the main lake where it branches out into the creeks you have to drive through some openings in rows of trees. It sounds worse than it is though... Good luck...

If your heading down for some bass fishing, I have been having some good luck on numbers and quality with a black and blue jig with a black and blue flake swimming chunk around the tree's somedays they are on the cedars some days on hardwoods and some days both. The dam also has some wood on it and chunk rock and is good for tubes, jigs, and cranks. Generally when I go and put in at the dam ramp I hardly ever fire my big motor just drop trolling motor and head left down past the beach. I have caught several in 3# range right at the ramp on the rip rap.

Really enjoyed this lake. I didn't know that a lake could have that much standing timber. Caught several fish. Most were in the 12-15 inch range. Don't know if it was the bite I was on or if that is the typical size for this lake. Caught them all shallow. Most on the flats with a spinner bait. Caught a few with a crank and one on soft plastic. Hope this helps anyone who is headed that way.

I fished Cedar on Thursday and had about the same results. Nothing over 14 - 15 inches. Med. running crankbait in the creeks. I decided to fish Herrington (first time ever) on Friday instead of going back to Cedar and caught a few small spots but that was it...
