    Dale Holllow KY State Ramp

Sometime starting in November I like to go to Dale Hollow to fish. In the past I have always launched my boat from the KY State Dock Ramp but I seem to remember something being posted that the State Dock Ramp is no longer open to people that don't have a slip in the Marina. I also heard that the trailor parking lot next to the ramp is reserved for only people have a slip . You can used the ramp but unless you have a slip you have park your trailor in the lot on top of the hill.

Does anyone know what the situation is at the KY State Ramp? If it is not usable, can you suggest an alternate ramp to use where I don't have to walk up or down a big hill?

    Thanks,

    Grumpy

    Grumpy,

If you are still keeping track of Nolin water temps, Sunday aftenoon Dog creek around the island was in the 75-76 range, the main lake near the flag island was 74 and up in Rock creek I found 78 in the back of a cove just up stream of the ramp.

Thanks Wizzard, that is good info. It looks like the cold spell was short lived and if this "heat wave" continues, the Turnover will be late this year.

I haven't been down there this year but I remember the same comments about the State Park ramp. As an alternate, Holly Creek isn't too much further down the road and their parking is ideal, not much of a hill at all. Good luck.

Anyone can use the ramp at the state park and you can park your trailer in the lower lot with no problem right now. The trailer parking is first come first serve. Nobody but fisherman for the most part using boat ramp from now until summer. Ramp is down to one lane already though. I used it last week with no problems. They are also working on the new ramp that is going in off the point on the main lake. I also use the Hendricks creek ramp in the winter a lot. Good luck. Bryan

As Opie13 stated, they have relaxed the crap at the parking lot and it looks like they may have the other ramp, on the unprotected side of the cove, ready sometime next spring. The ramp is down to the one lane on the west side of the dock. It is useable but seems to be getting to be more of a challenge by the day.
