The mortgage mess was caused for the most part by Democrat politicians pandering for votes. Frank Raines who presided over much of the sub prime lending practices, and got stinking rich off it became a Barack Obama campaign advisor. It was Christopher Dodd, the Democrat house banking chairman who along with his Democrat colleagues stopped the Republican submitted bill to reign in foolish lending practices. (Just those hard hearted ole Republicans trying to stick it the poor and minorities again. Luckily we have the Dems, champions of the downtrodden.) Dodd and Obama received more campaign contributions from the lending oufits in question than any other politicians.
I agree both parties are to blame, the Dems for creating the mortgage crisis, and Reps for not making a better effort to prevent it. I also hold both parties responsible for stealing our money for the bailout. Thieves go to jail in America, but the executive and legislative branches of our government got away cleanly with one of the biggest heists in history. And they ain't done yet. Mitch McConnell can kiss my vote goodbye, but I'll abstain before voting for Bruce Lunsford.
Which brings me back to my main point. All things considered, how in the world can you vote for an even larger federal government?
