    Guist Creek Ramp

Has anyone launched at Guist Creek lately? I heard they only have 8 feet or less of ramp below the water line. Is that true? Would make it kind of hard to launch. I think I need 15 to 16 feet of ramp to launch my boat. Thanks!!

I've launched in 4' w/ 20' Ranger and I'm not sure what kind of boat you have or why you'd want to launch a cabin cruiser on Guist. You'll be fine.

Guist is a Shallow ramp, and I think he is saying he needs 15 ft of LENGTH, not depth.......

AT any rate......an 8ft ramp at 20 or 30 degrees doesn't give you much room.

You still should be able to launch, as long as the ramp is not TOO washed out.

    Later,

My brother in law and his dad fished the USA Bassin (I think this is the name) classic last weekend. 2 day event and they did not mention any ramp problems. Don't know if this helps or not but yiou also could call store by the ramp and ask as well.

Yes. I meant 15 to 16 feet of ramp length not depth. I do not have a drive on type trailor. It is an old (1981 or so) holsclaw trailor. When I launch, I noticed that the tires on my vehicle almost touch the water. I measured the distance from the tires on my vehicle to the tires on my trailor and it is about 15 1/2 feet. I need to back down that far so that I can launch and load my boat properly. I have a small deckboat. It is only about 14 1/2 feet long but real heavy. I suspect that I have to back into the water farther to launch my boat than some other types of boat/trailor designs. Thanks for the responses.
