This is something that directly affects my profession - and is one of the primary issues I am basing my decision on. His tax plan makes total sense to me, whereas McCains seems to not be changing much of anything - I guess He, himself, saw his economic plan as a flawed, as he just made a totally new one this week in a last attempt to gain some votes. I am also 100% for his (actually the democratic) health care initiative. I work with too many families making the choice to work entirely for health insurance (not much left after premiums), choosing to not sacrafice needs for health insurance premium - risking thier family welfare, or worst case scenario, living off of government assitances rather than giving up those benefits to seek reasonable employment that doesn't have near the benefits of the assistance. There definitely needs to be government intervention with healthcare, and his plan offers that, however, not to the point of a socialist healthcare system, as the republicans refer to this as. And the most important fact - I don't want to keep spending money in Iraq. I wan't the quickest possible resolution to this issue, and Obama is prepared to do that, and continue the efforts in other countries where the terrorist actually are. It was foolish of the american government to get us this involved in Iraq, and even more foolish to think we should stay there until the job is done (even though McCain cannot define when the job will be done - he cannont establish a timeline, or vote for any support that provides a timeline).
And he chose a reasonable running mate, that is extremely knowledgeable of the key issues on a national and global level, and could be capable of leading this country if needed. McCain did not make such a wise choice.
