Sane? I gave up sane a long time ago. Insanity is where to be. Do what you want on the worst possible days to do it. With insanity you are not expected to give any good answers why. Seems to work. Leave the house at 3:00 in the morning on a day that the winds are going to be up and the temps at 0 degrees, and the wife always says "You're Crazy". Why argue!!!

I usually buy every fishing CD I dont already have, and watch them about 20 times each, clean and organize rod, reels, tackle. I have an office with all my fishing stuff, and I go down there alot, and just look around, and daydream. Last year I put a peg board up, and I keep my tackle on it in the wintertime, so I mess with that constantly. This year I am hoping to hook up with chubminnow and go to Dale a couple of times and try FNF fishing. But most of the time I just wish my life away hoping spring will hurry up and get here.

I hunt, fish some, tie flys, read fishing and hunting books, drink beer and I have the outdoor channel and the sportsmens channel.

I like to Hibernate. And watch hours upon hours of fishing shows I might take up jig tying this year.

I super tune old Quantum Reel's. I like the 381-441-621-1310's I usually buy beat one's off ebay then tear them all apart salvage the good parts. I use jewellers rouge and a motodremel and polish all the parts get new bearings with a drop of hot sauce reassemble and go to the next one. Every spring I have 10 new "old" reels various retrieve speeds and yet I am familiar with them having used the same type reel the previous year. I know sounds dumb BUT it keeps me out of the shrinks office

If the weather is going to be warmer than 40 degrees, and I'm not working. I'm fishing. The winter time is the best time to catch BIG fish. you may not catch many, but they are keepers+.

Which brings me to a question. Where do all the smae fish go in the winter??? any ideas.

It has always been my guess they school up pretty tight in the winter--They know them big ones are lurking about lol

I fish green in Nov and December a lot (Unless the water is to muddy), real good fishing if you havent tried it. Fish Cumberland and The Hollow (When gas aint $10.99 a gallon) till spring. I dont fish as much as I do the rest of the year mabey just once a week, (all my fishin buddies are fair weather fisherman they dont understand that Smallmouth on Cland bite the best when its pouring the snow and one well he's just married) The rest of my time I clean reels, make a few baits, organize my boat atleast 50 times for spring(even though I cant find anything when it comes spring), pace in my garage, sit in my boat for hours wishing it was may, fuss about the cold, and practice flipping a jig in a cup, last year when gas got so high I could hit a shot glass 7 out of 10 flips, (First trip to cedar creek this year I couldnt even flip and have it land next to a tree. true story.) Sometimes I wonder if I could climb in a deep freeze and have my fishing partner thaw me out in the spring, like they do in the movies.

Go south for the winter. Fishing is outstanding around here. When the cold sets in, water temp is below 50 degrees, I'll be down at Del Hollow with live bait fishing for MONSTER smallmouth. Do that until spring, and do everything all over again.

i like to winter fish cought some of my better fish in the winter the crazy thing is i cant stand cold weather unless i am out on the water fishin i tried to deer hunt but cant set still enough it gets to cold plus i cant see killing a defenseless animal that has not done a thing wrong. so when i cant get the wife to let me go i watch football and fishin shows "GO TAMPA BAY BUCS" o by the way how about them "cowboys"
