What keeps you sane?

With all the people that winter fish at the Hollow, and all of US that want to try it, ought to get together with each other, and have a weekend getaway, and catch some smallies, I have a boat, and more than happy to share it with someone that can put me on some of those big brown fish.

Fantasy Football. I also will make more frequent trips to BPS. My wife hate that we got one so close now because she used get get a few trips to Nashville out of the deal. I also do the normal organize tackle, sit in the boat, practice my flippin and so on. I always plan on doing more fishing during the winter but it just never seems to happen.

I fish all year long. Maybe not as much in the winter but I still go 1 or 2 weekends a month. My wife says I get too "Moodey" like I am going through withdrawls or something. I have to have "my" time to get away and do the thing that I love. I have 3 fish hanging on my wall and they all came in the coldest months of the year, and on the coldest days. Largemouth 7+ was in Feb with air temp around 20*. Smallie 6+ was in Jan air temp 9* and a striper at 21+ air temp was 13 degrees in January. Atleast the lakes don't freeze over, and if they do then I will take up Ice fishing.

With winter coming on and the fishing slowing down I am sure alot of us find ourselves in front of the television wasting time. I am planning on taking up some lure and rod making this winter. Just wondering what everyone else does to keep their sanity when it's cold and nasty outside and we can't get out and wet a line?

I like fishin Green in the winter...you may not get a ton of bites but thats year round...atleast you know in the winter they're going to be gooduns...saw a 6+ largemouth and a 5+ smallie get landed in january...and did i mention i lose my sanity mon-fri and any weekend day that im not fishin...

First of all, sanity isn't what its all cracked up to be. I don't stop fishing. I look forward to fishing without being harassed by pleasure boaters though. The fishing isn't half bad either. I also make lures year round and winter is my busy time. Who's talkin smack now.
