yea bass fishing up there tends to be tough, the bass are picky. if you look at the tournament weights, 9-10 lbs wins it, which tells you something. i usually fish up there for striper and crappie mostly. going up the creeks tends to only be successful before summer hits in. once it does, the bass don't shoot back up to far. they tend to stay at the mouths and feed on the baitfish in about 10-15 ft.
Actually, the creeks hold lots of good fish throughout Summer, as well as Spring, Fall, and Winter. It can yield bigger bags than10lbs. There were many tournaments that took 15-17lbs to win. Fish the main river for babies. Fish the creeks for hawgs.
what was the winning weight up there on saturday? everyone i talked to wasn't catching anything. we went up the creek and had no luck, and saw others coming and going from up the creek, yet i saw boats sitting in their spots out on the river like they had found them
I agree. I've personally witnessed fish that I didn't think existed in the river, caught in the very back of Little Deer.
