    Theif at Burnside!!!!!!

Today I went down for a little quiet time to myself. Had a decent day, caught 2 small mouth(Little) and 4 Ky's. Ky's were solid keepers. When I returned I loaded my boat then went to get the Transom Saver out of the back of my truck. I have a tanaue cover that locks. Well someone managed to open it. They took a 12" compound Miter Saw@$600, Brand new Paslode gas Nail gun@$300, and a air compressor@$100. The items are replacable but they are what I use to make a living. No tools No living! Oh! they even took my transom saver!
I have always trusted that if it was locked, then it was safe. I learned the hard way that a crook will stoop to whatever level they have to. From now on the only thing that will be in my truck is me. I will no longer leave anything of value.

Sorry to hear that but I see in your post something I learned years ago. I don't take anything of value with me that stays in my vehicle when I'm at the lake. The low rent scum succin' mental midgets could steal something else but hey I'm not gonna hide. I promise you this and hope all of you that read this do the same......I'll ask what someone is doing if I see a person dealing/fooling with a vehicle at a ramp parking lot with no boat on the trailer. I'll use common sense and not get myself into trouble but I'll always keep an eye out.

Man I truly am sorry this happened to you...being ripped off is one of the worst feelings in the world.

Did you report the theft to the staff at Burnside Marina? Just curious if you did...I don't know if you ever go to www.lakecumberland.com or not but if you do it would be a good idea to post your bad luck there too in order to give others a heads up, and let the community in general know they have some individuals who are up to no good, maybe they'll provide some extra patrols or something.

Didn't report it. Stolen tools are as good as gone forever. Hindsight, I should have let the marina know just so they could spread the word. I guess my truck alarm never went off either. Lesson learned. Theifs will steal anytime and anywhere. Locks only keep the honest people, honest.

Huh! "Didn't report it" are you serious? They just busted a bunch of scum bags in that area and recovered a lot of stolen items.
Why would you not report this theft to the police?

I didn't bother because I thought the possibility of getting it back was 0. I have a high deductable and the thought of my insurance going up is crazy. I would rather just replace it.

Sorry to hear about the theft, but I think we'll all agree, as the economy gets worse so will the thefts!!!
