Why should one stoop so low as to dig up dirt? everyone has dirt and have some thing in their past they might want to forget about or not reminded about. No one is perfect. Dirt can be washed away, why bring it up, there are more important issues at this time than mudslinging and such. But it seems that is all that some want to hear and they disregard the issues.And why should I stoop so low as to disrepect another for the sake of an arugument or to make a MUTE point just to "belittle another".

My post what not about generating dirt, and I really chose some poor words.

Rather, it was to try to show LEGITIMATE reasons why I should vote for obama instead of McCain..........AND you know what........as I expected, NO ONE here supporting Obama could show me ONE SINGLE Legitimate reason.

Someone stated "republican enough said". Well, I can give about 10 THOUSAND 1 liners why not to vote for obama........

Like I said earlier.........SAYING I told you so in a few years may be a few years TOO LATE.

We're at a crossroads with our country, and in my view, we're headed for some serious SOCIAL REFORMS that will bankrupt this country.

What do you mean by "we" because I have NEVER said that I was voting for Barack Obama nor do I recall that anyone else on this thread did? I am about as well informed, politically, as the average person (I dare not say that I know it all) and I didn't look to scant information on Fishin.com as my source. There are some very smart guys on this board but they can't 'tell it all' in a couple of sentences; political opinions often require extensive explanations to the ill-informed. I referred to those two ridiculous websites because digging up dirt seldom reveals anything of significance or that can be validated as fact.

I don't like the choices we have been given to vote for in either party. I will never stoop to voting for a candidate who is nothing but a "blank page" and, in my opinion, that's exactly what Barack Obama is.

I view this site as a way to debate, correspond and whatever else with the members of this web site. Just because I don't believe in another members views on Politics, doesn't mean I wouldn't like to meet them in person. Go fishing with them or whatever else might pop up.

Take Stratosjoe for example, just because he's voting for Obama, don't mean I wouldn't still make hair jigs for him now or down the road. I think being different from each other and having different views on life and it's challenges, helps each person get through their daily lives.

After Tuesday's Elections are over with, the mud slinging will only just begin, next thing on the agenda will be the loser's telling everything possible about the winner and what's being done by the new administration.....

Just something new to discuss and talk about on this Off Topic Board.... Glad the owners of the Web Site have it for us to come to and relate to each other and express our views as we see fit. But to behave and act civil while expressing how we feel about this or that.....

As a dem and a BARACK supporter, I will tel you my belives Geo, I am not trying to change a mans mind but also to inform and express my views, this is good that this site allows that, freedom is the reason for my belifes. I do not support all Social reforms as they need restructuring and reorganized, with time limits imposed on how long a person can receives some benifits. I am not in favor of gun control, I am no way a PETA member, I hunt, fish, farm etc,I work in social servicesand see alot of waste and miss management. But some of you say Barrack is a soclicalist, we are allready a semi socilist nation, ie, Socilal Security, Medicare, Retirement funds, What is really wrong with some form of socilalized health care, we workres would have more money if we did not have to pay for med costs, and always the subject of higher taxes, one question how can any pres not have to raise some taxes as WE ARE IN A HUGE DEFICET, we spend 10 BILLION a MONTH in IRAQ, how we gonnna pay for this with out some kind of tax increase, I hate taxes too, just got my ck and it makes me sick,but IT IS MY DUTY TO PAY TAXES, but I would like to see more for my contribution than what I see every day, spend it for the good of the cpuntry and to make this a better,safer, and MODERN country. And also unemployment is also a SOCILIST program, and a lot of you conservitives I know have at times used this program. That is why I am VOTING for BARRACK, it is time for a change, for new ideas, new plans, as it seems the way things are going now, the old ways are not working like they did several years ago. If we all think POSITIVE and stand behind whomever is elected and stand up as one nation things will only get better, it might not be in some of our lifetimes, but think about your children and your legacy's.

You know I get a real kick out of reading and posting comments here . hell if you think about it the off topic area would get pretty dull if everyone was a Republican or Demabamma. I don't think either one will be able to do much and most of my comments are just BS anyway. But just exactly as Clyde posted there is not a person that contributes to this site I would not gladly like to meet and fish with. Geo-fisher gave me real good insight to my great trip to Quetico. Clyde made me some kickass bearjigs I use all the time (matter of fact I will be chucking them this weekend). My best friend in the world (like a brother) and I went to Quetico and are getting together this weekend and hitting a local river for smallies. He is the most diehard Republican ever, we have had many heated discussions but we don't expect each other to change our thoughts.

The most important FACT is its the USA and we have the ability and the right to vote for whoever we want. I have paid my dues as alot of guys and gals have who frequent this site
have done to keep this country free. So before I get off the Podium I really respect everyone who contributes any comments to this site.......

You're right about a HUGE Deficit.........A lot of that is due to government programs that DON'T work.........Deficits started when we CREATED welfare in the 60's..........don't get me started THERE.

At one time we were the wealthiest country in the WORLD. Now, we spend money on programs that are broken, have an energy policy that sends 300-700 billion dollars a year to countries that HATE US. Continually bail out businesses that should FAIL, have trade agreements that are not competitive.........the list goes on and on as to WHY we have a deficit.

ON IRAQ....well............yes we spend 10 billion a MONTH there......but you know what.....that is a DENT compared to other wars. Actually on a yearly basis, it is less than 1 % of GDP.

* Nancy Pelosi has the WORSE approval record of ANY speaker. 9% approval
* Congress has the WORSE approval record EVER. something like 17% approval.
* Congress has not passed ANY serious legislation.
* Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid could not sway 4 VOTES to pass their spending bill.
* Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid could not sway 6 VOTES to pass their version of the bailout bill.

I don't have have NEVER planned my retirement based on social security. My parents, a LONG time ago taught me how to save. I've been putting 15% away for 25 years, EVERY YEAR. It took me 10 years before I purchased my first house, 15 years before my FIRST BOAT.....

I follow the DAVE RAMSEY plan, and TRY NOT be endebted..........AND I started my savings plan when I made 7.50 an hour.......DELIVERING PIZZA.

Now, don't get me wrong.......I will TAKE all that I'm allowed to TAKE.....I've been contributing to Social Security and Medicare for 25 years also.

BUT along the same lines, he says he has NEVER voted for any Independence PARTY member.........I believe him.

* Against our Troops
* Against funding for OUR TROOPS
* Against EVERY ANTI-ABORTION bill brought to light, in the STATE or local senate.
* FOR Every TAX Increase
* FOR Every Big Spending Bill.
* FOR 900 MILLION dollars for HIS CITY and STATE.

THAT is a GREAT record.........
