There is a BIG double standard in this country. My freshman year in college I had a professor, an angry black lady, have us write a paper on the advantages the white race has and dont realize it! This was the FIRST DAY OF CLASS!! It was simple English 101 not some African American studies class.
Needless to say I was irrate, and as soon as that class was over I demanded out of it and which I did (on a side not I got switched into a class were I met my wife so I probably should have stayed! haha jk). Anyhow I was appauled to hear the next year she was professor of the year! During that day of glass a mixed half white half black man stood up and said that he always put black even though he is 50/50 because it benefited him! Sheesh.
My wife is from Paraguay. Her mom is half German and her dad is a quarter German. She moved here when she was three and baisically puts white on everything. I tell her not to because she is a minority and she speaks spanish so that can only help her when it comes to job and school apps and even she says thats unfair!
As for Obama loosing and/or being assinated (to be honest Id actually be pretty sad for my country if he was) I don't things would be too pretty.
Im pretty young (23) and growing up in Birmingham I have heard stories my parents told me about the racial tension there. But it seems, I dont know why, that in the last five years or so I'm starting to feel that racial tension my parents have talked about, from both sides. HighSchool was a mess, I went to Ballard. While I had friend that were black, that school even though Id consider it a nice "east end school" was so racially divided it was sad. I played football, during the supper before the games, you could have split a line down the cafeteria between the races. My personal assumption though is that white people accept black people easier then the other way around. My black friends were constantly accused of "being white" and I felt bad for them for that.
Holy crap, thats too much, Im sstopping here! (**** monster energy drink!)
