I just think too many people are discounting him, before he has made one presidential decision. I can't say he will do a great job, neither can anyone else. Just the same, I can't say he will be awful either. I think his largest test as president will be to try to decrease the political divide that the last eight years, as well as this election has caused.
I say an increased divide was caused by the election because it was a sham(JMO)...the nation has always had political differences and will never see eye to eye so yes he has a GREAT problem there.

Actually, America was founded based on the freedom to practice religion as each person saw fit, not just as Christian religion taught. Those Christian laws that you talk about were based on Hammurabi’s Code, something older than the bible. Go back far enough and you'll find that Islam, Judaism, and Christianity were all part of the same religion. Pretty much split just like we have Catholic, Southern Baptist, Lutheran, etc. versions of Christianity today. How do we define what Christian Fundamentals are? I mean some sects of Christianity believe in handling snakes, some see all alcohol as a sin, others are ok with alcohol, etc. A wide variety of beliefs there. That is why the founding fathers did not want a state sponsored religion. So no, I do not believe that a politician's religious beliefs should matter.

Of course there is a double standard, I thought you knew Republicains were the only true patriotic party in this country.

You might also want to pin a suicide hotline numbe up top because I have never seen such a doom and gloom bunch in my life.

Elections can be painful, I rember going to bed in 2000 thinking Gore was President and waking up to find Bush had "won".

Canada is not that far away guys, except there are blacks there also. how about iceland?Grow up, the country will be here long after OB, if you feel that negative about it, the passport lines will get longer. This was a vote against bush, his policies, and some of the hair brained decisions he made. Why dont you guys organize a military coup? If you ever served, you would know that blacks were and are in all the services, the number is down now, because the standards for a vol. army were higher. My grandson says know they are accepting near morons to fill combat slots.A lot of the guys elected were not liberals, but conservative democrats, yes there are some of us called that.If every black voter in america had voted only OB, and the whites McCain, OB would not be president. One of the demographics mentioned often last night, were young educated white voters NOT voting republican.Driving through bowling green yesterday, a lot of young white people were on intersections, with OB signs , why? The old white guy days were numbered, next will be a woman.

The whites who voted for Obama decided that no matter if a buffalo was running against the Republican Representative. They were in no way voting for anyone on the Republican side. This shows how the idiots are thinking...Now if BO doesn't satisfy them and the new kids to follow they will do the same thing in 4 years for the Republican Rep.

I don't think you should lump all white voters into this theory - it is not true. I voted for Obama, not against McCain. I know plenty of "republicans" that their vote was more of a vote against Obama rather than for McCain. There were several guys that I fish with that were blown away that I would vote for a muslim???!!! Your telling me that they were voting strictly because they whole heartedly agreed with McCain's agenda and plan for america, I seriously doubt that.

Many votes were cast yesterday, some for the what I consider to be the wrong reason, and some that I consider to be for the wrong reason. But who am I to tell anyone what the right reason is for voting for anyone - All I know is I played my part in this election, just like a great deal of Americans did. We are not talking about a few votes either way - it was a landslide for Obama, So I don't think we can blame or credit this election to any particular group or demographic.

That's the right we have. Don't like him at all....it's his policies that he ran on that I'm going by. Doooh! I forgot they will change anyway as the wind blows, my bad. He is a great speaker.

I just hope he is not as bad as I think he will be. If he is, I will just quit my job, buy a trailer by Kentucky lake, and be a welfare baby, hell I might find me a hot muslim and knock her up about 6 times, so I could get enough money to put me a new Mercury on the back of the ranger.
