This has been beat to death for a while now. His father was a muslim. His father left when he was young. He was a member of a Christian church for 20+ years, so did not join just to run for pres (not that religion should play any part). Even his opponent McCain stated publically that Obama was not a Muslim. The Muslim crap came up in some hate emails that were sent around. Unfortunately, many people actually believed it (or still do).

Religion has everything to do with it, this country was based on Christian fundementals, every law we have is based on Christian fundementals, and all of a sudden religion does not matter, to me its everything. You put someone in office that doesnt even believe in God, or Christian fundementals, this country will go to $%# faster than he can backpedal on his beliefs.

Actually this country was founded on freedom from religious oppression. Albeit, the movement was within the Christian religion. That is why the constitution protects popel with differences - it does not only protect Christians. Obama is a Christian - check the facts on this one, please.

Aside from that point - I know quite a few people that don't attend a Christian church, or choose not to attend any church - I don't think that automatically makes them incapable of achieving or accomplishing great things. This isn't Nazi Germany, we all have the freedom to practice any religion or follow any faith.
