    Message to the Republican Party:

The "Real America" is not a region, religion or a demographic of people – and it is not rallies composed of rowdy, bigoted hooligans.

The "Real America" is a gift given to us in the form of the Constitution and a system of government that guarantees rule by the consent of the governed – and that includes all citizens who are eligible to vote – and a nation that abides by the rule of law.

    Quotation from Robert F. Kennedy:

What is objectionable, what is dangerous about extremists, is not that they are extreme, but that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say about their cause, but what they say about their opponents.

    Amen..............Ya'll have a great day.....I am.......

Well it's just too bad that your party the (Democrats) felt this way towards the Still President until Jan 20, 2009 Mr. George W. Bush....I've never in my life heard so much complaining and bickering about how a man has led this great Nation to the utmost ability he can...Given all the attempts of the media and Democrats to bash him on every attempt to help our people. I would have bet the farm that if 9/11 had of occurred during Ole Slick Willie's term, he'd of tucked his tail, ran and hid...Just like he did when the first attempt was made on the Twin Towers....

Prime example of how your Democratic supporters showed their real charactor at the RNC...

So don't get on hear now and start the bad mouthing and gloating, since your new messiah has won the Presidency election..... Remember he hasn't taken Office yet........ So now go and crawl back under the rock you came out from under and stop the insults and ranting on about the Messiah....

That was a self-serving statement made by RFK because, at the time, the political arena was just beginning to accept people of the Catholic faith and, like his brother, John F. Kennedy, he was a Catholic politician. Since this recession has begun, we now realize that evil is not mere words spoken by one's opponent but by so much dishonesty in government.

It helps if the people were educated enough to know that you don't get anything for free. You have to work for it. It was an insult to watch a politician prey on the poor by offering false hope and the uneducated that didn't know what they were voting for.

I voted for him. I consider myself to be educated. Actually, after reviewing exit poll statistics Obama recieved the majority of college educated votes. So to say that the uneducated people of this country determined this election is simply not true.

Exit polls are not to be trusted, but I agree the uneducated did not decide the election. You stated somewhere in another thread Col Mr. Obama won by a landslide. Not true. 52% of the popular vote when the deck is stacked overwhelmingly in your favor is far from a landslide. Were it not for NY and CA, a liberal would be hard pressed to ever win a presidential election.

PL lecturing on what the real America is, and following up with a JFK quote on what extremists say about their opponents. That's a laugher. The guy can hardly make a post without some silly elementary school name calling in it.

I agree with you on NY and CA, however, they do have very concentrated populations.

Maybe the term "landslide" was a little much, however in terms of electoral votes - it was a pretty steep margin of victor. On the other hand, when looking at all of the demographic and categorical breakdown of voters (age, race/ethnicity, religion, education, and income) - Obama had a larger percentage of votes in all of those categories, except only two (whites, and over 65 - both of which were by extremely narrow margins). I think it says a great deal about his popularity. It was not one or two demographic groups, he won the popular vote in almost every statistical category.

The point is, he should've won by a landslide. With all the TV networks except FOX in his corner by a 7 to 3 margin, 3/4 of a billion dollars to spend (7 mil for the first political infomercial in history), the economy going sour, and an unpopular war, he still only got 52%. If you shaded in actual land mass of who won what, I'd bet it would show Obama winning most of the large cities with inner city populations and thus a smaller area overall, while most of the rest of America voted McCain.

New York state is a microcosm of the country really. I spent a summer building IT systems for a paper concern in Syracuse once, and the people out in the state's interior had no love for NY City. Because of it's superior numbers of people, the city sponges much of the state's tax money and forces their liberal ideaology on the rest of a fairly conservative state.
