jig molds ???

the do it your self jig molds. i was woundering if you have to use lead to make the jigs, or could you use copper, alloy, titanium, stuff like that or lead only i was thinking that if you could use one of the above you could a diffrent sound when it bangs off of rocks and things that might attract fish more because it is a noise they have not heard before. just a thought wonder your guys oppinion.

The jigs would be lighter and I don't know what the other material's melting points are.

I've used tin in a Do it mold before. Comes out real nice. Check the melting temps and such. If you need a high temp to melt, might not work so well. Lead melts at 621 degrees F. As noted above, the weights will be different, but that might not be a bad thing. Might also shoot an email to the folks at Do It to see if what you want to do is advisable.

Brass and copper have a higher melting point than aluminum so it would probably damage the mold.I fish a rocky area below a dam in the Ohio river and after the water went down to summer pool this spring found a couple brass jigs which were smooth and well made but have no idea where they come from.

i sent a e-mail to do-it molds to see if you can use any thing besides lead but they have not replied yet.
