I don't like Barry or the Puppet Masters that he will be dealing with but I agree with some of the article's intent.

No way is he or can he be compared to Reagan but I believe they have a few things in common. Firstly, they are both great speakers/motivators. Secondly, they both are up against a great challenge their first term in office.

That's as far as it goes for any comparison. Barry has done NOTHING yet so until he turns things around (if) he's just the next body in the hot seat. Like I said before the way they put this guy on a pedestal is unreal! I'm waiting to hear that he doesn't sweat and his stuff doesn't stink!! This worshiping of Barry is getting old. Lets see what he does and then lets talk about how great he is.

They (Libs) wish Barry can be named in the same sentence oneday but right now all it does is support the Legacy of the best President we have seen in a long time and that was Reagan.

What was so great about Ronny? He didn't tear down the wall, he had help from a woman in england, and a polish cardinal, and a labor leader in that same country. I lived and worked during those wonderful years, was trickled on, laid off, and my taxes did not go dramatically down.Ever hear of Iran conta scandels? What was his military service like? And we had a whopping national debt to pay off later. How many of his cabinet were faced with prison? Justanother blurred fond memory of an ordinary politician. One good thing, he was a cub fan!One man does not make or break a country, we are great because can at times look ahead, and not always dwell on the past.I didn't adore the ground he walked on, and felt very bad when he was shot, and wish he didn't need to suffer through one of the worse scourges we have, alziemers. But he was our president, and desverved and got my grudging support, because of the office.

uh...lol. I can see how you would feel that way based on your perspective. We do have much better vehicles, no more USSR, a much more free market, etc. He was kind of like JFK, but a much better person and he was a maverick! ...had 2.

Do you remember that story about him getting shot? They drove him to the hospital and he insisted on walking in without assistance to show the world his resolve. He collapsed after he was through the doors and off camera, but that is what it's all about brother....moxy.

Our president is a figure head and not much more. He can't control as much as many of you think. Quick review: there are 3 branches of government. Executive is where the President works. That's only 1/3 the power.

I hope and pray that Obama will be a leader and not the follower his political past suggests. I hope he'll do the right thing and be strong when faced with other world leaders. If he doesn't, they'll laugh at him just like Bill Clinton and proceed to launch at will like they did.

Youre right but the other branch, the legislative, is controled by the likes of Pelosi, Feinswine, Brady, and their scummy Obama loving brotheren. The other branch is appointed and allowed by the other two and it looks as if Obama will get to appoint one or two or heaven forbid three Supreme Court Justices who sit for LIFE!

Some umm yeah, it is time to worry.

You forgot to mention that Inflation went down and employment went up and if you need more just google it. You might not agree with it but even alot of Dems agree that he was one of the best. Why Doesn't he get any credit for the wall coming down? (BTW, I got to experience that wall and checkpoint Charlie before all that was torn down, kinda creepy.)

Re: Obama is the new Reagan???

Sorry I wanted to make it easier for you. Enjoy. I copied it from one of the many sites on Reagan.

On January 20, 1981, Reagan took office. Only 69 days later he was shot by a would-be assassin, but quickly recovered and returned to duty. His grace and wit during the dangerous incident caused his popularity to soar.
Dealing skillfully with Congress, Reagan obtained legislation to stimulate economic growth, curb inflation, increase employment, and strengthen national defense. He embarked upon a course of cutting taxes and Government expenditures, refusing to deviate from it when the strengthening of defense forces led to a large deficit.
A renewal of national self-confidence by 1984 helped Reagan and Bush win a second term with an unprecedented number of electoral votes. Their victory turned away Democratic challengers Walter F. Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro.
In 1986 Reagan obtained an overhaul of the income tax code, which eliminated many deductions and exempted millions of people with low incomes. At the end of his administration, the Nation was enjoying its longest recorded period of peacetime prosperity without recession or depression.
In foreign policy, Reagan sought to achieve "peace through strength." During his two terms he increased defense spending 35 percent, but sought to improve relations with the Soviet Union. In dramatic meetings with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, he negotiated a treaty that would eliminate intermediate-range nuclear missiles. Reagan declared war against international terrorism, sending American bombers against Libya after evidence came out that Libya was involved in an attack on American soldiers in a West Berlin nightclub.
By ordering naval escorts in the Persian Gulf, he maintained the free flow of oil during the Iran-Iraq war. In keeping with the Reagan Doctrine, he gave support to anti-Communist insurgencies in Central America, Asia, and Africa.
Overall, the Reagan years saw a restoration of prosperity, and the goal of peace through strength seemed to be within grasp.

I honestly don't see how you can even compare Mr. President Ronald Reagan to Obama.....Obama couldn't hold the " Brill Cream " Mr. Reagan used, that's how much beneath Obama is to the great man.... In time if he takes office and becomes President, then he might get a little reconigition as being the new President.....

But please don't insult Mr. Reagan...I bet he rolled over in his grave and ready to haunt your life till you die for dis-respecting him like that.....

Well we all can't see things the same your beyond reason with this topic. I don't see any common ground and I sure as heck don't want to start another us versus them debate, I'm still not done with Barry! You can deny what is easy reading and find the glass half empty on this subject but I will not. Just remember noone is pefect even that fella looking at you in the mirror.

Barry on the other hand, who has done nothing, mind you nothing has the media already talking of a future Federal Holiday?? Sure it could take years to accomplish but geez let the guy serve for a term before putting him up on this Pedestal.
