    Angry Obama & Gitmo Prison

Flash...Main headline in the Democratic Courier-Journal...Obama wants to shut down and release any and all Detainee's to any Country that will take them. The ones who are up on charges by the US or NATO...He wants them to be brought to the US and tried in the STATES....Says a special type of Legal System will need to be implemented in order to judge the Detainee's...Plus he wants to give them Constitutional Rights and Open Trials....

Is this nuts or what...he wants to bring Terrorism suspects to American soil and give them our Constitutional Rights. They have no rights for being terrorists and Detainee's.... Already proven that when released they have been identified as participants in new terrorism acts against our troops and other Countries Troops.......

I just can't believe some of the Crap this new President-Elect is trying to do..... remember I didn't vote for this guy at all..... ope all you Democrats and whoever else voted for this guy are happy... Hate to see what else he comes up with...says his Executive Power as the President will let him make quick decisions about different items such as this one, faster than waiting on Congress to pass his plans...

Clyde, shades of Bill Clinton!! This move and his previously stated intentions to TALK WITH EVERYONE sends a clear message to Terrorists and our other enemies that they can attack us and do anything they want to against the US and we won't do anything about it. Look at how many times we were attacked, at home and abroad, under Clinton and, excpet for a couple of Cruse missles and unsupported Blackshawks, all he ever did was talk. I will be willing to bet that before the end of 2009 there will be a Terrorist attack on US soil that will make 9/11 look mild.

Other than the one attack on the World Trade Center under Clinton, what other attacks on US soil were there? Bear in mind that Clinton had no support from the Republican Congress to engage any further, so I don't think you can lay all of the blame at his feet. Hearing of attacks all the time on US personal overseas under Bush.

    Re: Obama & Gitmo Prison

Andrew: Besides the first WTC in 1993, other Terrorist attacks were:

    1993: CIA Headquarters, langley, VA

1995; US Air Base, Riyahdh, Saudi Arabia

    1996: Khobar Towers

1998: American Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania

Abductions and killings of American citizens all over the world.

The difference in responses to terror attacks between Clinton and the responses from Reagan before him and the two Bushs is that Clinton treated terrorist attacks as CRIMES to be investigated by the FBI and not as terrorist attacks to be responded to by our military.

Most Americans think that the terrorist war/Islamic Jihad started with the Word Trade Center but it has really been going on since the overthrow of the Shaw of Iran in 1979. And, it is not going to stop by talking to them as Obama wants to do. Unless, of course, what he says is: WE SURRENDER!!

McCain also wanted to shut down GITMO, only he still wanted to use the same system of Military trials currently being used..

A few days ago I read on a London News report that OBL said his "people" would make 9-11 look like a tiny practice session for the United States. They said that it was reported (the day after the presidential election) in two or three Arabic newspapers and on radio and that's where they picked it up. He says Obama will make a much better president than Bush; that he, OBL, can get Obama to pull the troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq within a few months. He also says those countries will do much better without US military interference.

IMO, he has already found a weak leader, an empty suit, that has no idea how to handle foreign affairs. bin Laden is like a cat stalking a bird; just waiting to pounce. Some leaders believe that Obama's recent trip out of the country was to either talk to or send a message to OBL. I wouldn't go that far in my assumptions but I will say that he is a man that can't be trusted.

    Re: Obama & Gitmo Prison

So we give them an ACLU lawyer who gets them off on a technicality because one of our soldiers didn't give them their Miranda Rights and they walk right out the front door of the court house into your back yard? Yeah, makes sense. The evil Bush has been trying to keep some Muslim Chinese detained because China has said that we need to release these detainees over to them. I think we know what will happen to them over there. After being "re-educated" for a time, their families will be getting a bill in the mail for the cost of the bullets. I'm sure what we are doing to them is far worse.
