Norris in December

I have a couple of uncles who used to fish Norris pretty heavily about 20 yrs. ago. They used to catch a lot of bass fishing at night in November and December, using mainly spinnerbaits and jigs. I've talked to a buddy who used to do the same (in an area he calls the canyon - i've never fished the lake). Is this still a good time to fish Norris? I don't mind the cold, but it's a long drive so I want to do my homework first. Thanks for any replies!

its always a good time to fish norris but i would check the lake levels its usually down this time of year but with this bad droguht it aint no tellin how low that lake is......
