    Re: kincade

Thanks fellas.....i have the best luck fishing stoner in the fall but it has been a tough nut to crack this fall....never got a rain to clean the gunk out this year.....we were catchin' some decent fish there in late august and september but it was tough finding your way around the duck weed and it has been a lttle clearer than it usually is this time of the year....Bassky,is the 10 horse limit on the lake mean you can't put a bigger enjine on the lake or can you idle around with a bigger motor.........
if you can't start a bigger motor, is the lake small enough to fish it with the trolling motor.....it sounds like you like fishing that lake quite a bit....it is about an hour or so
driving time from me so i would like to give it a try.....
    ......i'm just full of questions ain't I.....

    Thumbs up Re: kincade

It is a 10HP limit and no, you cannot idle your big motor, but it is small enough to use a trolling motor. That's what I do when I go there. You dont need a topo map of the lake, it's nothing but a soup bowl anyway. Any map you would find probably wouldnt be too accurate. There are some big fish in there, took 22lbs to win one of our club tourneys there this year (6 fish limit). Last year saw a guy weigh 4 fish for 18 and some change. I know for sure there is one 7lber swimming in there, I turned her back.

Thats a great track record eh....we have a lake here...Carnico...that is that type of lake, i seldom fish it but i am going to hafta learn how......that type lake is opposite of the kind of water i like fishing...im kind of addicted to a little sharper drops, not necessarily deep water but not so much the gradual tapering banks....
    thanks Bass.....appreciate the info, thanks.....HLL

Go sink some more brush on carnico, the fish seem to respond to it real well

It looks like when they built the lake maybe they cleaned it up a little too much eh.....it looks like a place you tie on a spinner bait or a crank bait and just keep chunkin it...

I don't think this is completely accurate, check out this link from kdfwr

    http://fw.ky.gov/pdf/08fishboat6.pdf...h=C101C203C682

    note the section on kincaid....

"10 HP OR slow speeds which cause
    no disturbance or interference with
fishing are required on: Beaver Lake,
Boltz Lake, Bullock Pen Lake, Corinth
Lake, Elmer Davis Lake, Cranks Creek
Lake (Herb Smith Lake), Kincaid Lake,
    Shanty Hollow Lake, Swan Lake."

I found this a while ago and have taken my boat to the lake several times and ran at idle and have not had any problems, perhaps i just got lucky.

All I know is I have fished plenty of tournaments there and nobody runs their big motor. I dont know if that is right or wrong, but no one does it. One guy in our club even has a mount on the back of his bass rig for a 10hp kicker for when he fishes Kincade.

    Re: kincade

while I have seen peeps with bigger motors run on the lake on occasion, i certainly agree that 99% don't go over idle. I wonder how someone could find out for sure, I certainly don't want to break the restriction on purpose.

I don't see the difference between my 150 at idle and a jon boat with a 9.9 full throttle, except that the jon throws ALOT more wake.

Anyone out there know how to find this out for sure ??

    Thanks in Advance.
