My drain tube stopped working properly last night so my doctor said to come to the hospital and they would take it out or I could take it out myself (since he knew I had done this before and he knew I did not want to come to the hospital) so last night around 8pm into the bathroom I went and out came the drain tube. Nothing like pulling a 16" piece of tubing and solid plastic from your stomache. First time I have not been hooked to the tube since August 21st. Wound is healing up a little better than I thought it would and my next date with destiny is Tuesday the 18th. If I don't have to go back under the knife then I plan on fishing Dale in December even with my open wound. The plan now is for my buddy Henson and I to fish a few days the first week of December and then I plan on driving back the following weekend and fish a day or two and meet all that show up at the get together. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers and hopefully I can get thru next week with no operation so I can do a little bit of FNF fishing next month. If so, look forward to meeting all at the get together and swapping a few lies and truths about fishing and anything else.

thats great news i am glad that u will be able to come down....
If I do come to the get together, I may have to find someone to go with me. My buddy Chunk is off the week before and the week after so my usual partner can't make it. If I can go, then I will post something to see if I can get anyone to go with me to the get together. Pretty sure I will not be able to fish by myself then so I will have to find a partner unless I can get Chunk to make it down as well.
Hey Elnut, I dont know you, but you sound l;ike a fishaholic. thats good and bad. What does the doc say about your plan? If he agrees go for it, its said the days spent fishing dont count on the days you have left to live.I know the feeling you have, after my heart attack, I was told that I would be off work for 8 weeks, and nothing strenous for at least six weeks, he sais that included fishing! and this was in the middle of may. I went back for a check up about 4 weeks later, and told him I needed to go fishing, its what i lived for.He said something simple, if those two more weeks opf recuperation didn't mean anything to me, what does it mean to folks who care for you?Afterthe check up, he sais we'd split the difference. Man I caught hell from my wife, and kids, and waited.I've been given that info on rest 4 times so far, it hurt, and the time dragged on, but it passed. Dont risk it, the lake will be there for a long time. You have a lot of guys who have read about your troubles, and feel for you.If there is any risk, think about it.Heres hoping all goes well, maybe one day I'll run into you on dale,we might even fish the same spot with those long rods and small flys.Till then via con dios!
u r an animal my friend. Save me some of that surgical tubing....I'm using all mine up protecting fish till I fish some smallie tourneys coming up....plus it's got to be lucky...good karma. God Bless u friend!
