A lot of across the aisle hugging and smooching going on the last few days. Well, far be it from me to break the mood. I love you guys.

Cold weekend, fished Barren Saturday, caught frostbite, and buried a hook to the bone in my thumb. Fish on the front treble, my thumb on the back. I screamed like a schoolgirl. A bloody mess till a guy came over and helped me out. Thank God for braided line and some know how.

Hooks + skin = Bad

Guess it was a barbed hook?

Once had a buddy hook me in the ear lobe (almost went completely thru) while we were wade fishing a local creek. Now the good part, he thought he was hung in a tree and started jerking to get it loose without ever looking to see he was hung in my ear. OUCH

Had to use a knife and cut a couple little slits around where it went in to get it out since that part of skin was so soft and stretchy.

Still have never let him forget about it when we get together to fish.

My son hooked me clean through the earlobe years ago. He too went to jerking without looking. That one didn't hurt too bad though, the earlobe isn't that sensitive. In fact I cut the line and wore the hook the rest of the day fishing and got it out at home in the mirror. It still had a piece of nightcrawler on it.

Ha, I did the same thing, cut it off and let the pretty Rooster Tail dangel and fished on. It really tore him up more than it hurt me. He turned ghost white when he turned around and saw where it was hung. Like I said I reall razz him about it and all he ever says is "you were to calm about it, just like hey your hung up in my ear, quit jerking".

But yeah those hooks in the thumb do really hurt.

Tyme2fish, I guess that is about as close as I've come to wearing a earring but if I was going to wear one a Rooster Tail one would suit me fine.

He did say Gitmo is done, no torture from the USA to any prisoner. He wants to kill or capture Osama. He wants to bail out Detroit, he knows he is in for alot of work.

The fishing was a lot better than the weather. Day started out cold, rainy, and windy...ended up colder, rainy, and windy. Fished in our club classic, first was 14 1/2 lbs, second 13 1/2, neither of which was me. When I saw their sack, I threw mine back. Not even close.

Pontooner, doesn't matter if the feathers on that roostertail are pink, folks know you're a tough guy when you're wearing it. (Actually my girlfriend back then said I was sick. She was grossed out by the hook on my bathroom counter)

If anyone's looking to thaw out this winter, beachfront condos in Florida are cheap. The economy and off season has prices at affordable levels. The wife, daughter, myself and my folks in Alabama are going to Panama City to a luxury condo for 3 nights during the thanksgiving holiday. 3 BR 1600 sq ft oceanfront place that sleeps 12 with balconies over the beach, regular pool, heated pool, hot tub, etc. $500 for 3 nights and includes a free adult pass on one of the deep sea fishing boats. My family took a non traditional T'giving down there 2 years back, and we had a great time.

We'll be leaving for home on Sunday the 30th. I'll be returning from deep sea fishing the afternoon of the 29th and I'll turn y'all on to some fresh filets if we catch some fish. Are you staying on or near Front Beach Road by any chance?

1 BR units that sleep 6 (king bed, 2 bunks for kiddies, and a foldout queen couch) are $300 for 3 nights. That's hotel room prices for an extremely nice beachfront condo. If you decide to go this winter, ignore the published rates and dicker with them.

We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Sun Spree on Beach Front Road. We were going to get a condo because my son and daughter-in-law were going to come with us...but they have had something come up so it will be just Becky and I. Since it is just the two of us, we figured we really did not need the condo so just got the hotel room at a good rate...we got 5 nights for 400.00 which is what we could have gotten the condo for (cheaper for us ol military guys thru the military system) for the 5 nights. This way we get the maid service every day and Becky and I will be eating out every night anway. I appreciate the offer of the fillets but we will not have a place to cook and we are not returning home until the following Sunday. Too bad you are not staying one more night...we could have gotten together at one of the local bars and drank a few beers etc...

We were going to get the condo thru the AFVC but sense we did not need the condo we opted to just get the hotel room....we got the rate ourselves from the hotel by calling them and asking for their one night free rate deal...they do not advertise the rate online...you have to call and ask for it. The AFVC is definitely a good deal if you want to get a condo....7 nights for 329.00 is a good deal on the Space A if the dates fit into your plans.
