    Re: headed to Laurel....

we went down towards the dam between that island by grove and the eagle preserve and fished there all day... terry was fishin a jig and he caught a 22 1/2 inch brownfish in 45 feet of water our scale batteries were dead so i dont know how much it weighted but it was around 5 and i threw the fnf all day adn had several pull downs i caught one about 15 or 16 inches and i had one take the fly away from me he was in a hurry to get to deep water and i couldnt even slow it down.... but a few minutes later it came up to throw the fly and it looked like a nice brown fish..... but the fnf was slow but it was blue skys and alll of our bites came when some clouds rolled thru for about 30 minutes.... i couldnt believe i didnt catch the first trout they usually aggrivate the crap out of me tryin to fnf fish.... but the water was in the mid 50s and we ran up towards spruce creek and the lake wasnt turning over there and it was just as clear as ever down were we was at but it might be turning over on the holly bay side.... didnt go that far...

    ryan,
I dont think they have stocked the trout yet so I think thats why you didnt get and bites from them. They aggravate me to death 2. Bout the same report as me but i think I would have done alil better if it wasnt so windy and crap. Well maybe we can fnf fish together at dale a lil if you come down friday. Will be there friday mourning and night and sat. Atleast you had a pretty decent smallie on the fnf... i only got a 16 incher in the boat. Did you have any fish follow your fly back to the boat. On several occasions I had some spots follow my fly back...
