Population control is necessary and I'm glad to help.........On the farm I hunt there is a 8 point limit...anything less you gotta let it go, and hopefully next year he'll be bigger.

Hey Trout........Killing only 8 pointers or BIGGER......does that really help with population control, or do you guys assume that hunters around the perimeter of the farm are weeding out enough smaller deer to be effective.

Do you guys also take does....

I actually like the idea of a "Trophy" farm, but wonder if you're hurting the farm rather than actually helping it.........

Just asking.

BTW........I've not hunted in years and could be completely full of CRAP , but I wanted to ask anyways.

Geo, read my post that is how to run a trophy managed farm. And yes to answer your question, you must shoot lot's of doe's for this to be successful. Also George it really helps when the surrounding properties practice the same thing sometimes easier said than done, lol.


We've taken 11 deer so far this year and our numbers are down. Has been a very windy deer season this year to hunt, makes it tough sometimes.
