I was only out about $3,500.00 but my friend bought a brand new Bas Cat with a 250XB motor and shortly after the Dealer filed bankruptcy. The problem is my friend paid the dealer for taxes, title etc but never got it because the dealer never turned it in to the state. As of today he is still making payments on a $52,000.00, 2001 boat with not tags, license, registration or anything. He can not sell it trade it in or even use it. He got too many tickets for using with out registration and the Lake Erie game wardens told him one more time and they will impound the boat from him.
He bought the boat in November of 2000 and is still sitting on it the boat has less than 30 hrs on it and it just sits there, it kills me every time I see it I can’t imagine what it does to him every day he walks by it. Through the right channels things can be done but he does not want to spend the lawyer fees to do it around $5,000.00 plus $3,500.00 in taxes that he already paid. He talked to the state and they said they would pursue it and take care of it but it has been well over a year now and still nothing.

Good luck to any one that got pinched.
He can go to the license branch, explain WHAT happened, GET the cops to come out and run the VIN......when it comes up clean, he can license it....

I KNOW he can to that in IN and KY, because I've DONE it........
