I like the Loomis.
I bought 3 MH 6'6" custom made rods from Tim Tiptom's Custom Rods...I will swear by them especially for how light they are. Plus he puts Titanium Rod guides and a lure holder on his custom rods. They are under warranty for a year. Call Tim at 502-553-1101 tell him Clyde sent you his way.....
Plus I bought the wife a Spinning rod for her birthday, so I have purchased 4 rods from Tim and will buy nothing else while I'm fishing.
For your price range check out Shimano. The Crucial rods are in your price range but the Cumara is better for a few dollars more. What size rod are you hunting for?
Another thing to consider is how heavy a jig do you want to throw? If you like the 1/2 or better jigs, then I would go with the G-Loomis. Shimano Cumara's have good feel to them, but do not seem to have as good a backbone on them.
Also something to think about is how tall you are to match up with your choice when flippin or pitchin. If you can get to a fishing store, and not a big box store, take your reel with you and see how it feels on the rod. Both Shimano and G-Loomis make great products, with great warranties. Good Luck
I ran upon a G-Loomis IMX 7'0'' MH action a couple months ago at Sportsmen's Warehouse for about 225, it's by far the best jig rod I have ever owned, and weighs next to nothing.
just my opinion...
Like someone else said, it really depends on the jig (weight). For an all around general jig rod 5/8 and under, or even as high as 3/4 I would go with the cumara in that range, I would just make sure you get an Extra fast action. The MH extra fast cumara, has more backbone than a Heavy with just a fast action. With the MH Extra fast you can cast anything from 1/4 oz to about a 3/4 (it says up to an oz., but don't believe it). They were designed for bottom bouncing sensitivity - and the warrantee can't by beat. Loomis are good too, but I would pay for the GLX if I were to get a Loomis over the cumara. Now for heavier jigs 3/4 - 1 oz. and for stroking I had to shop around forever - I ended up with a St. Croix - it had the most backbone, and I also like an H & H if you are into stroking a jig - which around here is deadly.
Several months ago I added a new jig rod to the collection and love it. It is a shimano compre graphite rod. 7 ft medium heavy. It was only 99 bucks and it is one of the most sensitive rods I have ever used. I put a diawa reel with the twitchin button on it. My jig bite has greatly improved.
I second Don, under 200.00 crucial over 200.00 Loomis or Cumara (they are both great). I think the Cumara will do what you want with the heavier jigs too also around 230.00.
Hope everyone has a great holiday.

You can waste your money on the Rods' Above or you can have the equivelent
for less listen to MsgMills and I ... Tim Tiptons Rods are Top Notch! hes located just off Dixie Hwy 502-553-1101 and tell him Sam Boles sent ya.
I've recently switched to Powell Rods. They've dropped their prices to $139. They're very light and sensitive and have a lifetime warranty.
