You can waste your money on the Rods' Above or you can have the equivelent
for less listen to MsgMills and I ... Tim Tiptons Rods are Top Notch! hes located just off Dixie Hwy 502-553-1101 and tell him Sam Boles sent ya.

I don't consider it a waste for a HIGHER priced/quality rod like a Loomis or ANYONE else that offers a lifetime warranty.

I have used the Loomis Warranty at least 1/2 dozen times, and EVERY time, NO QUESTIONS ASKED........

That is worth the extra 30-40-50 bucks, whatever.........

AND you really cannot beat the performance of G Loomis rods.

* I use a 6 1/2 Medium Heavy IMX bait caster, for jigging.
* Just traded a 6/16 Medium IMX spinning rod for a 7ft 4in Bronzeback
* I also have another IMX Medium spinning for general stuff.
* Also have ANOTHER IMX Medium Heavy Spinning for smallie jigging.

I guess you can call me a Loomis Man.

Personaly I would go with a Carrot Stix a 7'3" MH. The rods everyone else has talked about are great rods also. I have held one of MSGMILLS custom rods and they are very lite. I do not know how sensitive they are though thats is why I choose Carrot Stix over any other rod plus they have a lifetime warranty and only $149 at BPS. Very hard to beat!! Just my 2cents.

You can't go wrong with a Kistler Rod. You need to look over their selection before you buy a rod. They have several different price ranges. The Lta series rods are great and are just over $200. Kistler is the best rod I have ever used. http://www.kistlerrods.com/

It's all in what you get used to...or allot of it anyway.I used a 7-0 hvy action Cast-a-Way for years and would love to find another.(anyone that has one plz let me know)I must agree that the high end rods are nice, but by the time you get one and pay to replace it once,($50 or so,shipping not included) you could have 3 decent rods. I must however disagree with the action recommended by most on this thread, hvy action is the only way to go for a jig rod. My jig is usually in cover,hence the hvy action, I use a md-hvy for worms and such while bank beating. Good luck findin' yer rod, and good luck on the water!

If you want to save some money and still have a good rod, wait till BPS runs the Pro qualifier or Johnny Morris rods on sale. I also like St. Croix Avids.

some real good deals at bps right now,for way less than 200..falcon makes a good one too.
if you need warranty i guess the loomis is worth the money,used them,didn't catch anymore than on my falcons,none of the fish i caught could read the name..i've never needed a warranty,never broke my falcons.how do you guys use so much warranty?do you beat your dogs with them..

LOL.....The 2 and 3 hundred dollar rods are out of my price range too....a rod or a reel that cost over $100 is above what I am willing to put into them....the loomis rods do feel really great and light as a feather but I would bet I enjoy my "cheapo" equipment about as much as I would the more expensive stuff....I saw a reel at backwaters a while back that had a $650 price tag on it..not sure how any freshwater fishing reel can be that much better than the ones in the $150 to $250 price range..
