Come on now, don't let all the hype go to your head just yet..... The same thing was predicted and said about the Big East Football Conference this year as well....We all know how that turned out don't we........? lol![]()

This conference is sick. Three teams in the top 5 and seven in the top 25 and they are thus far living up to the hype. Last night Uconn beats Wisconsin and Syracuse (a middle of the pack Big East team) beats Florida.

I am confused. How did it turn out? I don't remember anybody saying the Big East was going to be a good football conference, in fact most people picked them at either fifth or sixth out of the six BCS Conferences. Looks like it turned out just about the way it was picked.
Btw, if you can't see the depth, talent, coaching and tradition in Big East basketball than I am stunned. Especially since most of the basketball pundits are saying it is probably the greatest one season of a conference in the history of college basketball. The only thing tougher might be the NBA western conference lol!
Well Gawwwwwwlllllyyyyyyy...... They should be tough with 16 teams in the league...Yes I do give them credit for being a tough league, but try and remember most of the toughness was prior to U of L joining in 2005...But this year might be an exception...I still don't see U of L being the # 3 team in the NCAA Top 25.....Just have to wait and see.....![]()
Tim if somebody would have told me that UConn would have run a Bo Ryan Badger team out of the gym I wouldn't have believed them. The Huskies are looking tough.
Hey Mills you just said that most of the toughness was PRIOR to UoL joining in 2005.
You are aware Louisville went to the final four that year....right??
If you are going to continually talk smack everytime Tim or I post something at least know what the crap you are talking about....OK.... Maybe I read your post wrong but to me it made absolutely zero sense.
Mills, the Big East was a very good conference before the Cards joined, but by adding Lousville, Cincy and Marquette to the mix they are a great conference. As a matter of fact, ten Big East schools are among the top 50 all-time winningest programs ever. No other conference can say that. Also seven Big East members have won NCAA titles.
Here is a link of winningest programs.

Not knocking U of L's program, but I do have my opinion about their programs. I'm entitled to that much. I've kept up with College ball since way back in 1969 so I do know a thing or two about College Basketball. The pre-season does not mean anything about how a team is going to do once they get into Conference play and their chances of making the big Dance. But so far the Big East has got several teams listed in the top 25..... It's hard for several of them not to be listed when they have so many teams in their conference. But once the Conference action starts the head banging will commence and just like every Conference out there. They ( The Teams ) will be beating each other up and knocking each other in and out of the Top 25.....
So without an unbiased opinion about other programs like U of L, UK and or UT...why get on a message board and hoot about your teams. You've got to be able to take the bad with the good. I'll be the first to tell you Indiana will be taking quite a few knots to their heads this year and maybe next year, before the ship is corrected and the winning ways of IU tradition is restored....![]()
Tim's original post was talking about the conference not HIS team. We get on this site and talk about everything under the sun, after all it is a message board. You have the power Mills to not comment on a given thread. What's wrong with us discussing college basketball, good, bad or indifferent, it's just something to share thoughts about. We can take the bad, unfortunately that's all you have brought to the table so far though and I guess I just don't get it. To reiderate, (spelling), we know you hate Louisville Clyde, we get it, we got it, we understand, we oblah, we comprenda, 10/4, alright, O.K., IT'S CLEAR. Have a good day!
Well, looks like thus far the conference is living up to the hype. Last night Notre Dame defeats Texas and Syracuse defeats the defending national champions Kansas. Tonight will be an entertaining game between North Carolina and Notre Dame. I think it will be close and competitive, but the Heels just have to much talent.
I also think Carolina will come out on top but it's not gonna be easy for them. The Irish are tough, heck even the ballboys on that team can hit three's.
LOL, Harangody and McAlarney are sick from deep range. McAlarney has shot 50% or better from three point range in three of their four games and he has only taken eight two point shots.
mhall, we will have to get together for a game this year. I can usually get basketball tickets from my friend for free as long as they are not playing one of the big boys. They are pretty good seats. Second row off the floor in the closed in end zone.
Yep, been watching ND and they are very tough! It's gonna be exciting to watch this conference this year.
Doesn't really look like the SEC has got any real fire power this year.
