    Thumbs up GPS Recomendations?

Looking to buy my first GPS unit and would appreciate any and all recommendations and advice. Do 80% of my fishing on Lake Cumberland. Just need the basics, which (I guess) means a hand held unit.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: GPS Recomendations?

If you are looking at a handheld - I had the Lowrance H20c and loved it. It takes cards, so you can get the navionics chip for good detail maps of the lakes. Lowrance is closing out the 520's and 522 - they are combo sonar/gps units, but they are hard to beat. The prices on those have dropped $150. I prefer this over my handheld for fishing. You may still be able to find an LMS 480 for cheap (the black and white version), but the color makes a big difference.

    Col is right,

The Lowrance H20 is your best bet for fishing. I have the black and white version, and it works great. I have all roads and waterways stored on cards on my unit, and that even includes some depth marks and obstructions. It is a great unit.

Like posted earlier you also cannot go wrong with the 520 c. These are great units and easy to use and has good picture quality and definition.
