Happy Thanksgiving
May your turkey
Be sweet, tender and moist
I hope Grandma checked for buckshot and wad
And Grandpa didn't leave his snood
If you hear a putt, a cluck
And God forbid a gobble
Coming from the table
Maybe, just maybe
He needs a little more heat to be stable
If your turkey's plumage remains
In living metallic glitter iridescence
Of reds, green, copper, bronze and gold
Maybe, just maybe
Your aim is not as good as you been told
If your turkey has been plucked, basted and cooked
Maybe, just maybe
This Thanksgiving your waistline can be overlooked
And around your table no matter where you are
May there be much laughter and joy
And I hope, really hope
Your turkey doesn't turn out to be a decoy
