    Re: Sauger weight in!!!

Hey no problem chuck!! But if you think that these fish cause some problem then lets talk about it. As far as the zebras they contribute the cleaning of the great lakes to these little bast%$* It would be great to find a happy medium. I have heard the gobbies are loved by smallmouth.

Mike, it kills me that due to a few law breakers in Ind. that we can't snag anymore over there. I'm from KY. but I snagged in Ind. Most all spoons that I caught I released. All the bigheades would end up in my garden....Great fertilizer. I wish I had a picture of what I saw 2 years ago at the lower dam after shut off... even the guy's working at the dam were yelling at me LOOK AT THAT can you believe it. I just nodded and started to throw my big 1oz rooster tail in hopes of snagging these things legally. Our hands are tied, and before you know it ...we will all be carp fishing in the river, for that is all that will be left. Chuck

And as an after thought, I didn't mean to lead you all to think snagging will fix the problem. It's going to take alot more thinking from a biological standpoint. Sorry for the rant... Chuck

This is not a endless supply of fish look at Great Lakes not to may years ago it was hard to find good fishing. And it has made a great come back but just didn't happen. It some guys that cared for something and talking about then action and so on. I think that I may have titled this wrong but not just about the sauger just fishing in general on the Ohio River!!!!

    Re: Sauger weight in!!!

the ohio river is truely an amazing fishery and with some more conservation ethics put in by all of us it would be world class. sauger are the only fish i have eaten from the river and i have always kept decent sized fish to take home. if every one that fished it did that and not take the cigars and the huge females full of eggs it would be better than it is no. as far as the asian carp, they are ridiculous. they are an invasive speices that needs to be eradicated as well as the zebra muscles
