Well, I guess maybe we SHOULD have stayed if that's all it took...lol We left early and threw our two back, but one more KY would have put us over the "get a check" level and we had over an hour of fishing left when we left the docks going home. Honestly though, it was not worth that little check to lose 4 more hours with the family. Although, if the 17 1/2 inch smallie that weighted 4+ would have been 1/2 in longer we would have been in the "real money"......like they say, "if if's and but's were candy and nuts....".

ye we had a 17 7/8 smallie that we couldnt get to go to save our lives,he was a good 3lber that woulda put us in the money
Dude anything is possible but if you got a 17 1/2 inch smallmouth that weighed over 4 pound you need to check those scales. Ive caught a bunch of smalljaws out of that lake that are fat but 4 plus and under 18 inches is just....well. Most 4lb smallmouth in that lake are in the 19 to 21 inch range. I'm not saying it's impossible, but that one I'd almost have to see on certified scales. Not trying to pick a fight, but I'd be checking those scales.Well, I guess maybe we SHOULD have stayed if that's all it took...lol We left early and threw our two back, but one more KY would have put us over the "get a check" level and we had over an hour of fishing left when we left the docks going home.
