Re: What is the most odd catch you have had?

Fishing Farm 13 many years ago in Florida twitching a Rapala around some reeds and BOOM! A 3ft Gator comes out of the reeds and nails it but it came off. I figured that was good since those baits aren't cheap so I started tossing those bright pink and orange floating worms at them and caught a few. They fight pretty good!

Also caught Blue Crabs on Crankbaits while trolling in the Cooper River in South Carolina.

    A Horse Skull,

Redneckshadrap and I were fishing Stoner Creek on Halloween Day a couple years back and I caught a horse skull on a tube bait. We were both shocked when that hunk of bone came to the surface.

Re: What is the most odd catch you have had?

2 years ago, I was catfishing north of the gambeling boat. A rod started peeling off line. Grabbed it and set the hook. Faught it back to the boat. Half way back it surfaced. It was a red flannel shirt full of silt and water. It looked like a torso of a person until we got it right next to the boat. 10 minuted before, we were talking bout hooking a body and pulling it in. We still laugh about it. I'm telling y'all, it looked like a body in the shirt!!!!!

Question Re: What is the most odd catch you have had?

Just what do you mean by odd? Do clams, pelicans, sea gulls, mergansers, eels, turtles and burbot count? Not to mention in animate objects, sometimes I think any fish is odd!

Ive caught bullfrogs after throwing platics up on a bank and drank it in the water. Them frogs will hit and eat anything!

Didn't catch it but when disecting a bullfrog in high school mine had a good sized baby bird in it's stomach. It's feathers were a little decomposed but the bird hadn't been there long.

I was completely confused looking at the diagram in the biology book showing the frogs stomach and intestines because my frog just had this huge round thing in it that looked nothing like the picture. The teacher came over looked at it and said huh, cut it open and let's see what we have. I thought the girl sitting next to me was gonna puke when I cut it open and there was the bird.

I have caught a can, a motorcycle tire and a boot, yes all the things you have seen caught in cartoons I have caught.

Bullfrogs are savage beasts! Wed be in trouble if they were bigger~! I went frog giggin on Barren one time and while cleaning our catch I decided to cut the stomach open of the biggest one we caught and there was a baby snapping turtle in its stomach! It was dead but it hadnt been digested at all yet. Creepy...

I once hooked a pelican while mackerel fishing in Fla, and those darn hedge apple looking things, they look like a human head if they have moss on them, hung one several years agos and as it was comimg up, the water was very clear, it looked like a head and upper body as it also had a tree limb attached, scared me to death. Those darn bowfins are strange critters, caught a snapping turtle on a skitter pop once at Barren, and the strangest thing of all was actully catching a keeper basss at Taylorsville lake,

I did catch a Bullfrogs on a grape man worm while floating over lilly pads. It was a sight to see. I had a good laugh.

Re: What is the most odd catch you have had?

Trolling crankbaits on ohio river Caught a 35 lb spoonbill. The line must have hit the fish's tail and line looped over and caught on the treble hook and cinched tight essentially "lassoing" the fish by the tail. Not one hook even penetrated the fish. Also mid october caught a 30" Musky trolling cranks on the ohio just below Cincinati. My first musky.
