    Re: Cumberland Stripers

Justin, I have a red aluminum Triton bass boat. I'm on vacation this week and today I stayed off the lake as everyone backed out at the last minute. (weather I guess) LOL. I'll be back on the lake in the morning. LOL. If you see, stop and say hello. I live about 10 minutes from Waitsboro or 15 minutes from Lees Ford.

Team Smack did well last weekend. All fish were caught on Gizz 3's. The fish seem to be keyed in on small 2 inch shad. We tried bigger lures but only caught fish on the Gizz 3. We fished out of Jamestown Marina. We fished two different creek arms. One creek had fish in the jumps in the back of the creek and the other creek arm had jumps in the mouth. Seems like the fish are everywhere.

Way to go team SMACK. I usually use the Gizz 4 exclusively for the jumps, but like you said, the fish want something smaller right now. Had to switch to a small swim bait.

    Re: Cumberland Stripers

We had 6 Wednesday, caught on striper jigs and jerkbaits. Two fish over 40 inches caught Wednesday morning in the jumps on jigs in the creeks. I'm no striper expert but we've caught them very good this fall and for the last several years, mostly topwater but some bigger fish on Bill Norman crankbaits. The fish were not "jumping" but the birds are diving in schools of shad and the fish are there if you are patient enough. These fish are all over guys, from creeks from one end to the other to the main lake around waitsboro. On a lighter note, a friend of mine had 5 smallies over 18 in Tuesday on the FNF. Caught near points where there was some wind.

    Good fishing,
    bassmaster

Killed them again this morning. Had to use a hair dryer in order to get the plug in the boat. LOL
