    Smile It didn't disapear.it vanished!

Finally got out and did a little fishing withthe long rod and tiny jig. Got one, and lost a real hawg, couldn't fiond my seagar 6lb flouro, so used some old 6lb vanish, the knot diodn't hold!Water in cumberland is up about 4 ft or more, very clear at indian guffey, and whipperwill, temp about 49 degrees.Nothing on the silver buddy, or slash baits, even my stand by pedigo was ignored. But it sure felt good to be out.

Obviously, you need to throw away the Vanish. It didn't take me very long to realize that stuff is junk.

I'm using Seaguar now and it seems very strong. It does twist more than the PLine, though.

4lb Vanish is what got me to trying braid on my fnf. That Vanish was aweful and it was new off the shelf.

+1 on the Vanish. Worst line I have ever used.

Wel...according to Gorski's info, it looks like the long rod is the go to rod over and above anything else.

Vanish does not work with a palomer knot it breaks every time. If you use a trilene knot it does hold 10 times better than the palomer knot. I myself stop using vanish a long time ago and started using Pline or Seugar but before I threw the Vanish away I tried different knots and trilene does hold. I certainly would not switch back but if you still have Vanish try tying a different knot it makes a big difference for some reason on that line.

Hmm, sorry all you guys having trouble with the Vanish line. I've been using it for my fnf leader for a few yrs now and haven't had any trouble whatsoever with it, and I do use the palmor knot on both ends. Not trying to say its better than anything else, just that I havent experienced the same trouble. ?

+2 on the Vanish. P-Line works great though!

It was plain lazy for me, should have looked harder, that spool of vanish is about 4 yrs old. I used for gills and crappies and didn't like it.Was going to try itm again today, but when I woke up this morning and heard that wind, whatcan I say, I'm retired, dont NEED to fish like that anymore.

Amen on the Vanish. That stuff is terrible. On the other hand, I'm addicted to the seagar. I went ahead in INVESTED in three 1000 yard bulk spools, set me back some serious money, but it's worth it!!!

    Re: It didn't disapear.it vanished!

vanish is the worst fishing product I've ever used. I will never buy line from that company again as they will sell anything.

Some non-palamar knots will help a little but relative to other FC's like Gamma or BPS, it is not as good as the stuff I throw in the trash; at least that stuff had some purpose at one point in time.

Another one I consider only slighly better is triplefish.
