Never fished Green ever for anything but I can tell you that the fly will work anytime, anywhere when the water temps drop below 55 and you can find some fairly clear water. Even if you don't find totally clear water it will work as long as you use some Chartreuse in your jig color. Not necessarily totally chartr. but some in the jig color. I did catch a couple of suicide crappie at Guist Creek of all places in 42 degree chocolate milk water in March just to see if it would work. Not in the Bass class but it was fish.

Green is overlooked for smallies.There are some hawgs in there just hard to pattern.In july tues night tour it took over 16lbs 3 fish limit to win all smallmouth.
I fished Green last thursday. The Water temp. was in the low 40's. I caught 6 fish. 4 on a fly and 2 on a jig. They were all nice spots from 15"
to 17 1/2" no smallmouth. I hope to go back in a few days if the lake is not muddy. Anyone know the water color?
