Alright, I am jumping onto the bandwagon. I bought a rod last night so I guess it doesn't matter a whole lot, but if the overwhelming opinion is that I bought the wrong rod I may contact them before they ship.
These are two St. Croix rods, which one would you select. I want to do some FNF and also use it at KY Lake for some outstanding crappie fishing.
Rod 1 - 9'6"; PWR = L; Action = Mod; Line Wt = 4-8; Lure Wt = 1/16-3/8; Rod Wt = 5.4oz
Rod 2 - 9'6"; PWR = ML; Action = Fast; Line Wt = 6-10; Lure Wt = 1/8-5/8; Rod Wt = 5.7oz
Thanks for your opinions. I value them greatly as you guys know lots about this fishing stuff!
Edit - Also, I realize Bass Pro has a perfectly good rod for far less. I just love the feel and performance of St. Croix rods.
Shouldn't go wronge with either one.
I have been using a 8'6'' fly rod, i also use it in the spring and fall for crappie.. Man bass are fun to fight on that thing> Either of those rods sound great.
They both sound like good rods to me. Much nicer than mine which have served me fairly well.
Both should work, I would go for # 1 if I had to choose.
rod #1 would be my pick
#2 , Just a hair more backbone in that Buggy Whip.
Thanks guys for your input. I had bought Rod #1. I believe I will stay with it. My uncle has rod #2 so I will be able to see both in action and possibly regret my decision. Oh well...
