    Need A Little Help???

I'm not real good with motors so figured I'd see if someone could help me. My motor will start and everything fine, but whenever I start to push down on the throttle to idle it's okay, then I'll start to open it up and when I push down on the throttle it dies. I usually can go back and push on the gas line bulb and it will be fine. When i shut it off and repeat the same steps it dies again and i have to go back and pump that bulb a few times. Any suggestions on why it keeps dieing about half throttle.

first try running a bottle of carb cleaner threw it. From there go to the plugs and change them. If neither work, come back and we'll go from there.

I have the same problem on one of my tanks on my boat, since the bulb always seemed to lose pressure, i assumed it was a leak somewhere in the line. Please let me know what works for you.

    Thanks

First thing I would do is look for a leak in the fuel pressure system...especially around where the bulb is connected to the fuel line.

Check the bulb, if black is getting on your hands, get a new one, then if that dont do it then clean the fuel system like mentioned above and get new plugs, NGK's are the best. this is all very inexpensive to do and should solve the problem, I had the same problem with mine.

It's a 2000 Mercury force 90hp. I've changed the plugs and put a new line and bulb on it, but it still does it. It just seems like it's not getting gas, once it finally kicks in it's fine.

Sounds like you need a new line and bulb to me.I had same problem and put new line with bulb and still did it.It ended up that the line was sucking air where it goes into tank(plastic tank).Just my thoughts.

    Re: Need A Little Help???

mine was doing the same thing i changed my bulb and line still did it then i changed my pick up valve. it still did not work. so i drained my tank and was going to get a new tank when i found a piece o silacone in my tank that came frome my fuel gage on top. and that was the proublem. we cleaned the tank let it dry and it has worked fine since. so maybe if nothing else works try checking your tank to see if it has anything in it. what happen is it would start idle then when i would take off it would die and i would have to wait and pump my bulb and try again. the silacone would cloug the line and kill the motor, then after it stoped it would fall back in the tank. it took me two mounths of doing diffrent things till i found out what it was. hope this will help

I believe that your motor has carbs and not EFI. Correct me if I'm wrong. But if it does have carbs, sometimes junk will get in the bowl and block the jets. When you pump the bulb it will force the fuel in, but not if the junk settles. You might also check to see if you have a check valve in your tank, some tanks have them some do not. Might not be sealing
and letting the fuel back in the tank. Good luck..

Check the fuel filter and replace it, BPS has one that is around 10$. That should help you some and it could be the main problem.

Hey guys thanks for the help. I'm going to try everything that you'll have said on Saturday and hopefully it will fix the problem.
