Re: Fishing TV Shows start soon

Only saw one episode but this show has some serious potential! It's called Hook N Look and is hosted by BASS Pro Kim Stricker and his son Danny Stricker.
They fish one day and then go back and scuba dive and see where all of the bass are. They have underwater microphones and do a good job of follwing the bass.
It's a pretty decent down to earth show! It's on Versus channel.
You will have to search for it---it is not on any prime time schedules. It's on early in the morning like 3:30 and 5:30 and during the week! Go figure------set the DVR!

Larry Nixon, Denny, David Fritz all great guys as nice as could be - I was going to meet my heroes I'm a grown man not a little kid so I didn't act like a child and to be snubbed like that was just wrong. The reason I am saying this is because last year my son was wanting to meet Iaconelli soooo bad but he had to work and couldn't get off and a friend of ours was getting an autograph from him and told him about my son and he took out his cell phone and called our house - I freaked when I answered the phone and he talked to my son and told him he was going to take him fishing next time he was in town (he has done this to someone else I know and he did just that) how good a guy is that? awesome and I respect that, my son loves him to death and that is "his" hero.

I agree Fish Fishburn was awesome and I almost feel bad when I see him MC some other club as good as he is/was. His show was pretty good too very entertaining
OFFDTOP, up until your comments about Ike, I couldn't really stomach the guy. You changed my mind the way he called your boy. Guess I'll have to tolerate his personallity now, because the phone call (and a confirmed follow up to the promise) might just be his true feelings and the rest is a show.

there are worse guys out there, by that I mean real stuck up guys, real dirtbags who act as though they are better than anybody and this guy doesn't do that. Yes he is over the top but I remember Hackney screamin "Godzilla couldn't beat me", Or Ish Monroe screamin when he caught that big one at Amistad, I think it's funny, amusing I don't look at it negatively Iaconelli is high strung, but how many times can you listen to "dats big momma" without cringing? I agree the breakdancing on deck is a bit much but I believe if you read his book Bassmasters asked him to do it, but they also asked Skeet to dance also. He's competitive and I take it that when he does catch a fish it actually means something to him, I know the fit he threw on camera was wrong but if you want to learn some new curse words fish with me when I break one off in a tourney. Really "meet" the guy he's not the character on TV because you only see glimpses of his fishing day due to the coverage. I don't know.... I get pumped when other guys get pumped up, have you ever fished with a partner who's having a bad day? the day that started wrong before getting into the boat? makes for a real cruddy day, but if he's pumped up LOOK OUT we gonna rock the world.

Is there going to be a new season of Classic Pattersn, anyone know? That was, IMO, the best and most informative show on TV.

I agree with ooskeeter, The Bass Pros, best show on tv. I just cant figure out exactly when its on. It seems its only on every couple weeks or so. I just set my DVR to automatically record it whenever it comes on. Charlie Moore? Give me a break. How did he ever manage to get his own show??? Mike Iaconelli? Cant stand listening to him, but I do hear that he's a great guy. I met Zell Rowland one time, a real great guy. I know he was in a hurry, but Zell was willing to stand there and talk fishing as long as I was.

It comes on Fridays and another day during the week on the Outdoor Channel. They are not sponsored by Lucky Craft anymore, now they are sponsored by Yum, Excaliber, Heddon etc. So they have Tim Horton, Terry Scroggins, Alton Jones and Dave Wolak doing the shows. Still a great show.

I've heard good things about Ike also. But I will say from personal experience, I ran into Swindle and Velvick at the lake this year at a little ice cream shop. You could see it in Velvicks eyes, "great somebody that might want too talk to me." Not that I would have anyway. But that settled it I wouldn't p on him if he was on fire. And he stinks anyway. I would like to see him fish against say the top 10 BFL on LBL. I bet he would be 11th everytime. And I know there local boys but he's a pro. I saw last saturday he had a 4 minute infomercial I hope that's all. Zona is the man.

Wow, those are some pretty harsh words. He did make the classic this year so he's doing something right. And he does get to fish for a living. What would happen if you put those same 10 guys against him at Amistad???? Kind of a double standard there bud.

What about Zona's show this past weekend. him and Wirth just slayed the smallies, now that was a show. Would love to get into smallies like that. He is a good host. Also why dont' one of you river rats invite ole Charlie Moore down for some serious catfishing or maybe you striper manics and f & F guys could do the same & BEAT Charlie Moore. Also Day on the lake is a good show.
