If it ain't broke don't fix it. But I am cheap sometimes.

My advice is to stay with the aluminum prop. Stainless stell props are harder to ding up (well kinda), but if you hit something with a SS with your small gear case, more than likely
the gears are going to go before alot of damage is done to the prop. Small motors will not flex an aluminum prop like the big ones do. Stay with what you have....Just my 2 cents..

Make sure you did a good job rebalancing your prop.........any wobble will wear the seals and will COST you dearly.........

Tuckers Landing in Jeffersonville/Clarkesville Indiana does a FANTASTIC job fixing props.

I've had skeg work done at Tucker's and he is a great repairman. Fair price, excellent craftmanship.

No, a SS prop on a 50 hp is really overkill. At that horsepower you aren't getting a lot of power loss from flex. You don't start seeing much advantage of SS until you get up over 100 hp. However, like mentioned above, an unbalanced (severely damaged, not just dinged) prop will run through bearings, seals, and gears. Its a judgement call on your part but I would say leave it.
