UK/UL basketball predictions

Look, I didn't care for the "This is our house" stuff either, but let's get real...these are kids, and they come from all kinds of backgrounds, they see pro athletes walking with a swagger, and are groomed to showboat when it gets right down to it. I feel quite certain if the tables were turned and we beat them at Rupp with a 3 at the buzzer that there would be similar celebration. I've got no beef with the Cards there.

There's this idea that Louisville is the big city school full of thug ball players from the hood....and Kentucky is the frontier outpost full of good old down home country boys....get real. Both are wrong. Sure, there are a lot of historical differences between the two schools, but in modern college ball there's a whole lot of parity. UK fans should embrace tradition and history, but that doesn't mean you should live in 1978. It's 2009, the game has changed, the environment has changed...Cats and Cards are bitter rivals, hopefully always will be...but as much as one side thinks they are better than the other, they are quite the same now. UK just happens to have a larger tradition of winning/championships in the past.

Holy crap. I think I just took up for the Cards.

By the way, I think you mean UCLA (11) having more titles than UK. The Runnin Rebs aint even close, as they've only got (1).

You can't state the facts any better than this post by Brian, it's spot on without debate. I to hate the screaming after a shot made, the jersey pulling, the chest thumping like Tarzan going down the court. But guess what guys, they all do it, every doggone team in America today at some point will show these traits on the floor. It's all part of this culture that has been made popular by the liberal media, music, and so on and we aren't gonna change it anytime soon. I'm old school, I like the old ways and I always will but I guess I'll just have to be tolerant of certain things. Does this make ALL of them punks and gangbangers, certainly not.

'' When you do something great, act like you've been there before, humility is a virtue ". Said by coach John Wooden. I made a comment about coach Brooks and what he did in the Liberty Bowl. One of the things that I really like about this man is his consistant diligence to respect for the other team, and no trash talking, I really admire him for this. Fellas all teams do it, it's wrong and even the truely top shelf athletes do it sometimes. Edgar Sosa has the mentality and maturity of a 12 year old, that' why Pitino told him he would probably be better transfering to another school, so try and overlook him.

The jersey pulling is just a specific peeve of mine regardless of team/athlete - never liked it. Also can't stand the "ssssshhhhh" motion with the finger over the lips after a made 3. I'm more of a fist pump guy but will always chuckle at something creative.

As always I love Pitino, not sure he's not the best active basketball coach now. Maybe #2, yall will love this but coach K is awesome. I missed the part about Pitino telling sosa to transfer that's awesome. And the only time I don't root for UL is when there playing KY. Same thing with WKU. There all KY teams. As long as they always beat IU lol.

I have absolutely nothing but the best too say about Pitino. He should have won a championship by now. However, the kids that go to UL for some reason have the worst attitude of anybody I've ever seen. Example, Sosa with his pulling the shirt, "this is our house." come on they barely beat a team according too the ranking they should have stomp. It's always bad attitude with them. But I say again, I love Pitino. And I will say again. Nevermind KY being the most winning team in basketball history, and I do understand a lot of it it history. Also having more championships than anybody but unlv and I may be wrong there. You know my basketball mind and all. But let's start keeping score right now. I understand you'll probably be ahead at the end of the year and I wouldn't bet on that. But in the next five years, I'll bet we will be ahead. And again my problem with UL is the attitude. I may be wrong but I don't remember any of our guys acting like they were in the hood or something

BTW, you have less college basketball knowledge than Mills....at least he knows that UNLV has only won one title and UCLA has won 11. BTW, your Kayuts are the most penalized athletic program IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE ATHLETICS (that means no school has been caught cheating as much or as severly as UK) so go spread your trash elsewhere and leave the sports talk on this board to the grown ups. UCLA that's right I knew that. See my basketball mind and all. Maybe were just not as good at cheating as the other teams. I wonder if any of them are honest. Sosa's still way over rated. I hope he gets his chance too show off again.

Well prowler, it was a gym filled with mostly Louisville fans...surprised he didn't have to whip a set of flash cards out of his back pocket and help the crowd sound it out. lol

What a game...WOW...and what an ending...

Sosa knew he was going to take that shot, guarded or not, from downtown Louisville or not...and he nailed it...

Nothing like a buzzer beater to take you from an emotional high to an emotional low if you're on the loosing end, but congrats Cards...well played ballgame.

I'm watching Boston College beat North Carolina right now but they are coming back, we'll see. Kentucky never gave up and Earl Clark has a brain the size of a sugar glider. Sorry I lost it a bit fellas, sometimes that crap gets to me and makes me mad enough to smack my grandma.

My dad is the exact same way. I've never seen anyone get so worked up watching ball games, screaming at the refs, coaches and who ever elses fault he thinks it is. I can't watch games with him anymore because he gets to riled up and takes all the fun out of it.

The Heels got what they deserved. They were flat footed the whole game, missed free throws, missed open shots.............

Thought I would edit this to mention Boston College did play a great game and deserved to win, didn't want to take anything away from them.


And Trophyhunter8, I'm no Ville fan but they have a rich program history whether you want to admit it or not.

Tim, so help me I don't what to think about this bunch right now. That is the most frustrated I have ever seen Pitino, I think he was ready to kill somebody, lol. Kentucky has been playing low end cupcakes so I really don't know what to think about them either. This one is up in the air for sure. Losing two in a row in the Hall hasn't happened in a looooong time, I say Cards by 7........ 70-63 with several lead changes throughout the game. I know one thing Tim get ready if UK pulls it out to listen to all the BS, they are primed and ready. I have never seen a fan base in my life with so much hate for another ball club and I will never truely understand this way of thinking.
