Any wind above 5mph and I hate it for the fly. too many waves gives too much action and I don't catch fish. Pretty much next to the cloudy or clear conditions the wind is what I look at next on the forecast for the fly bite. You will find me in the protected coves throwing the fly on windy days.

we put in at jamestown and fished from there to the dam and in indian creek and caney creek. We fished main lake points, secondary points, main bluff walls, creek bluff walls, some run ins. The only thing we didnt do was run to the very back of the creek?? We also threw shad color crankbaits that run 8-12 ft and craw color cranks?? If you fishing in the rain and catch afew or even get a bit thats one thing, but we never even got close and bout 3 oclock we loaded up and headed to the house!!! I hope to hit it again on saturday just have to see how things go at home work ect. I really love fishin that fly but it sure put a whoopin on us today?!?!??!?

Elnut I would have loved to had 5MPH wind today, the main lake looked like glass, every now and again there would be a breeze 4 bout 2 min then glass again!! If we had been tryin to crappie fish or deep jig bass i guess it would have blowed us off the lake!! HA HA Oh well ill take the good with the bad and just look forward to the days the kishin gods smile down upon us! Oh by the way gonna send you a pm.

Re: Where do the wind go????

I thought the water color still looked good at the dam, the water was still very clear and in indain creek. there was some color in water at caney creek, but very little. Though when we were leaving i noticed that the run in were pickin up more flow so id say there will be more color tomorrow that today. There was alot of standing water we saw on the way home in the road and in yards and ditches. It kept a steady rain on us today from 11:30 to about 3:00, by then we were soaked to the skin and fishless so we headed to the house. Hope this helps.
