My suggestion posted to the distinguished Governor's website:

Raising taxes, be it sin taxes or others is NOT the answer. Our taxes relative to our income here in our state are already disproportionately high.

If you really want ideas, instead of just going through the motions, post the government's expenditures then let us make suggestions.

NO BAIL OUT
Stop giving money for projects like the amp a theaters that popped up all over our state a few years back and are not in use today
Stop outsourcing of state jobs
Make all state buildings power off all computers while not in use
Install motion sensor light switches to power off lighting in empty rooms
Hold contractors accountable for their contracted work
Stop giving tax money away to foreign countries
Stop PAC money
Arrest all ilegals and ship them out and do not let them back in
Help to start a FLAT TAX for all so we ALL PAY the same (State and FED)

I was probably off topic a little but I went off on how we spend money protecting and spending our tax money on Illegals in this state and county. Regardless of what anyone says about it I think it's a major problem and who can even put a figure on it?
I also wrapped it up as another form a Welfare that I'm sick and tired of paying for. I might have been a little strong at times.....no Moderators to think about!

Being a State worker, who administers food and medical benifits, I feel your pain. I do not agree with some of the policies of the dept that employees me,esp the illegal immigrits policie's, but I have ti have this job. The gov has proposed mand furloughs with no pay, up to 24 days over the next two years, that will nulify my raise of a mesaly 1%, IN TURN THEY RAISED OUR INS PREMIUMS , so that raise was nullified from the start, I make the same take home pay as I did 5 years ago, I do not make 40 a yr I barely make 30 and I have been with the state 10 yrs. It is funny how they waste money, but us workers have made suggestions and come up with ideas and but no one listened, no one cared, NO ONE REPLIED AND NO ONE ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS. All suggestions were sent to dept heads and legislators. NO replys.NADA ZIP. But here is the straw that breaks the camels back, the state reps, state legislators, all the ones who control our states budget, have ALL gotten 5% and better raises EVERY YEAR and got a over 3000.00 $ raise this year, but they want to punish the workers who are on the front lines and are for the most part unappreciated, underpaid, overworked and stressed, and now wE HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES. This state has earned the position in the countrys list of top 3 most corupt states, we probally should be higher, buy anyway. Got to get back to work and give away your hard earned tax money to illegals and such. Sorry for the rant. Just things are getting tight for me and it is cutting into my fishing and that po"s me.
