I don't know about an alarm but I have heard of guys putting baby monitors in their boat. Just plug in the main unit and leave it in the boat and take the portable handset with you into your room. Some of them have great range and bet if your boat is close enough you will hear everything. Not so sure but I bet an unhappy fisherman busting out of the room coming toward the boat with a potential thief rummaging thru your stuff would put a stop to the rummaging immediately, plus that unhappy fisherman that was just awoken will get to put that potential thief to sleep with a few knock to the head.

I am in the automotive electronics business and i have installed some higher end alarms in boats that pick up motion in and around the boat as well as other options. Pin switches on storage lids, etc. Not really very inexpensive but well worth it when you look at the alternative. Let me know if you want some info.

i like the baby monitor deal or some kind of silent alarm.... i would also recommend taking a pellet rifle with u to so that when u are awoken to them in your boat u can call the police which will prolly show up to late to catch them in the act because that is how most robberies go.. but u can take that pellet rifle and when they bend over to look in a box u can shoot them right in the bag... i think that would just be just about as funny as u can get.. the headlines would read.... tackle theif foiled by would be victim with a pellet rifle and deadly aim..

More like.............Fisherman Killed fending off would be thief with a TOY.

I know you're kidding........but if you're EVER going to point a gun at someone......pellet gun or not, you'd better be willing to pay the consequences, or SHOOT to KILL.

AND I'd certainly not be pointing a pellet gun at a would be thief......

YETI portable system 249.99 usd looks good. I typed in boat alarms in google and found several. Not a bad price for what it is.

Locker bar. A lot of the pro's have them on their boats. Not too expensive and they work.
