I've always been lucky with white flukes. I've fished with a #8 bullet weight with a leader. You have to be careful not to break line but the bite is awesome fun. You might have trouble bouncing it off the bottom at times, but I find it is worth it.

you can cut the head off of a nail and put the head part into the nose of the fluke....makes the bait sink nose down and gives it a very erratic action
