    navionics chip trade in

does anyone know if you trade in a chip for another chip if you save money. i would like to trade in one of my chips for a 2009 platinum hd chip but if it is not worth it then i will just keep what i got. if any one has done this or knows about this let me know if i should or not.

    thanks

    Re: navionics chip trade in

I'm guessing, but I would say there is no "trade-in" program for the chips. In some cases you can update the software on the chip. Other than that I'd guess you would just have to sell it and buy new.
I'm sure there is someone else on here with more concrete info.

you might try just selling it. Some of the older gps can not use the new ones. I sold mine for 75. I would guess that is more than what you would get in trade-in

    Re: navionics chip trade in

Navionics will give you $50.00 for you trade in, but you cant buy from Navionics so it works like a rebate. You buy the chip from xyz company and ask for the trade in card. They will give it to you or you can get it on line and send it in with your reciept of the purchase of a new chip of equal or greater value. The more expensive the chip is, the more you get back but standard lake make maps are $50.00 and marine maps (off shoar) is $75.00.
Here is the kicker when they have promotions going on there is a $50.00 rebate or discount on last years chips and trade ins are no good. So if you opt to trade in instead of the discount well you just hosed yourself because you now paid the same price but no extra chip in your desk drawer. But if you are buying the latestet and greatest chip you can get 50 bucks back to take your wife out to dinner with. Or in most cases buy more tackle instead!!

    Re: navionics chip trade in

i called navionics and they said they would give me $75.00 for my hot map so i could get a platinum chip for the price of the 09 premium hot maps wich is not bad. but is the HD 3D maps worth it or is it a waist. because i have the 1197si combo and the 3d maps are real detailed on the pics i have seen. so i will proubley give it a try any way.
