Yea i seen it,hes crazy
Yeah, that was ridiculous! We basically do this for carp with light tackle off a private dock at Barren. Chum with a little corn and then follow with a big hunk and a treble. It's wild and you can catch a catfish for dinner 2. Pretty cool.
zona is the man those gars wore him out. he didn't even have time for the baby cub song.![]()
What I thought was cool was that Zona could find perhaps the only Gar fishing guide in the entire U.S. Those last two fish wore him out.
Zona's show is only one click away from Charlie Moore's. I don't see how the gift of gab land ots of goofy antics has anything to do with a quality fishing show. I've made a living for the past 24 years producing television programming and watch as many fishing shows as I can find on digiatl cable. I also understand that programming preferences is very subjective, so here's my opinion of what makes a good fishing show. In a good show, I want to feel I've learned a little something about catching fish in a new fresh/salt water area that I might travel to in my lifetime. In my opinion, the best quality fishing show on television is "The Spanish Fly" . Not only doest this show have excellent production qualities, but it also encompases the whole experience of going fishing; from the over the road traveling to the destination to making good decisions on the water based on what natures provides. My second choice for best fishing shows was "Schooled by Denny Brauer". I still use many of the techniques I learned on this show many years ago. If you weren't even a slightly better fisherman after just one episode of this show, you weren't paying attention. If I want to watch comedy, I'll tune to comedy Central, I don't want it on my fishing shows! This is just my opinion.
Amen 12volt , dont care for his antics either , just my opinion . But there are some good show's out there this year..........
I don't see how u can't help but laugh at zona? But what makes his show entertaining is the fact that he's actually an awesome angler and has some crudentails to back it up. And when your best friends with kvd and have worked with bass and tons of bait companies and is one of the best northern smallmouth anglers out their. Now i will say his show isn't the most educational, but fun to watch. It sure beats bill dance fishing in a retention pond behind his house..
If ESPN2 ever cancels this show, maybe comedy central will pick it up?
If it ever gets cancelled and Comedy Central does pick it up then I will have to DVR it on that channel. Love Zona's show, best fishing show on TV that combines entertainment and fishing. Best fishing show on tv for information is The Bass Pros. Loved "Schooled" but ESPN cancels that which proves how smart they are, NOT.
Bad news 12volt, and it is something you already know, ratings drive the bus, not production value, so I could see Masterpiece Theatre getting canceled before Zona....of course some people think wine is good while the rest of us peasants will be stuck with beer!Zona's show is only one click away from Charlie Moore's.
