Today is a sad day in American history in my own personal opinion.
Are we about to see another version of MLK come on the scene? Remember that Jesse Jackson was a hanger-on with MLK during his days of marches and "We Shall Overcome." That is the same Jesse that 'criiiied' when Obama won the election; the same one who can't wait to go before the cameras to proclaim that he blazed the trail for Obama. I'm sure that he is secretly waiting for some type of presidential reward for all his efforts.

Last night I heard Larry King tell Jesse Jackson and Ralph Abernathy III that Jesse was the first black politician to run for president and that it had a great influence on politics and Obama's election. Abernathy's father was a cohort of Jackson and MLK. It looks like we have come full circle and that's what worries me. I'm not playing the race card here, I'm just stating the facts.

We've made a lot of progress in the last 40 years, particularly with race relations, so I suppose a celebration is in order. All things considered however, it is a shame it costs 170 million dollars to put it on. The government spending 170 million more of our dollars on a party is yet another insult to U.S. taxpayers.

Like you said before he has a free ride on anything he does. Heck, it could have been 2 billion and noone especially the media would have said a thing.
I'm already sick of hearing him speak. I wish him well (because we need a leader) but HATE his speaking style, the short stops at the end of each sentence and the condescending manner in which he presents himself is stomach wrenching. I'm glad I still have the right to turn the t.v. off when this nimrod is preaching whats best for me.

I agree when he tilts his chin skyward and throws his 'presidential' look it's hard not to feel it's a little too rehearsed. But you have to keep in mind who he's really speaking to. The majority of people seem to want a star instead of a president. Clearly enough the media pays little attention to what he actually says, and focuses mostly on his race and style.

I'll be glad when the show's over and we see how he's going to lead. Hard to see how he's going to pull off the anticipated centrist style of leadership when surrounded by the likes of Clinton, Emmanuel, Pelosi, Reid, Franks, etc.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a Repocrat party? Special interests and political pundits have polarized the 2 viable political parties to the point where there is little moderation. Any move toward the center from either right or left is seen as weakness and waffling instead of common sense.

Yep a third party is whats needed since the country is held hostage to choose between the two evils. For Example....I liked McCain but he really wasn't my choice and I would never have voted for Barry so I was stuck. A viable 3rd party candidate would have been nice to consider.
