Man i tell you what, I dont know a whole lot about the F-n-f ,but i love to throw that buggy whip and Ive tried in afew smaller lakes and its not failed me yet! Not sayin that ive went into a new lake and burnt them up but at least caught a fish or two. I believe that if the conditions are right the fly will work durn near anywhere! Give it a try you never know what you mite hook into!!!!!!!!!!

What area on Brookville would you target for the smallmouth? Not looking for specific spots, just general areas?

i have been thinking of trying it for some time just have not been out there to do it. I would think the lake is getting a lot of ice on it with the weather lately. I have not been over there in quite some time but i do fish it for smallies a lot at night during the summer. To answer the question Bassky asked. I would stay south of the causeway. From the dam to the causeway. i have caught a bunch of smallies from the lake just not many over 3. I have heard of some really nice fish caught just not by me. I am going to try to just fish for big fish a few times this year. I said i would last year but did not get to fish as much as i would have liked so i just stuck to the smaller fish i knew i could catch! If you try it let me know.

Never fished it but with Smallies and Stripers in it, you can bet it has deep clear water, just my opinion. Any clear water environment will be ok for the fly, lake, creek, river or any other waterway. Fly will work on catching suspending fish and you need clear water for it to work the best. If this describes Brookville then it should work.

isn't brookville frozen? Fished their twice last year and enjoyed it, hooked into a monster walleye while cranking a deep bank, that was fun??
